I am sure Finley has some shortcomings too, but having a talented athletic QB in the competition could only be a good thing.
He is not athletic in the sense his legs work at all, so don't get your hopes up there

Not saying you did this, but LSU fans who don't know their arse from a hole in the ground thought he was going to be an athlete at QB because he was a black guy...until he played. Looked like our training staff made him wear shoes that were magnetically stuck to the ground.

Run roh. Bo about to have a breakout

He had a terrible spring game. He was struggling to just complete passes. He has a long way to go.

So the QB that started for LSU is going to the team that blew LSU out. How is AU happy about this? I don’t know why he would transfer. He had many opportunities to be the starter. He beat SC but SC had a horrible defense/team. He could not produce against other teams. Max won his 2 games he started and he probably should started against ATM.

Did you watch Bo Nix play in any other games? Hell, he wasn't even that good in that one.
I'm thrilled to have some competition from another SEC QB...if you can call either one of them that.

Did I watch Nix in all his games? No. He did have some bad games I’m sure. I watched Finley. He had 0 pocket awareness. I’m the ATM game he held the ball around his chest when 3 defenders were tackling him. He fumbled and they nearly scored a TD. End up scoring a few plays later anyway. He has the size and arm strength. Just reminds me of another Jamarcus Russell. He wants everything given to him instead of earning it.

In all fairness I only really saw him in the AU game and he just looked like an overmatched freshman in a hostile environment.

Gotcha and all I want is for Bo to feel some pressure from Finley. If Finley ends up being better, I am fine with that too.
LSU fans would have to see the talent behind Bo to understand our satisfaction in getting Finley involved. Sometimes it can turn out great getting a guy with a chip on his shoulder, and sometimes you get the same guy that didn't perform.
That is why in my original post I said, Well, now let's see how it all goes or works out.

The old "we didn't want him anyway" line.

Well, he turned out to be pretty good.

Finley has a ton of arm talent but never seemed to go past his first read and had terrible footwork in the pocket. And it didn’t look any better in the spring game.
Just my opinion, I think he should sit another year. But either way, Bobo has a good track record with QB development so Auburn was probably his best choice.

Yea, I mean it is no secret he was labeled a Pro Style QB coming out of HS to LSU. Usually means he can't run too effectively, or hasn't been asked to.

He has a lot to work on. He was a freshman last year. I don't understand giving up on a kid, a QB especially, after being in college for less than a year.

Agreed, not every freshman is capable of performing at a high level coming in.
I will be interested to see how it plays out.
I mean that assessment really explains it all. That tells me a guy needing to develop before being the guy. Maybe he is not willing to take the time to develop? That could be an issue.

Shows promise throwing on the move, but not a big-play running threat mobility-wise. Big-framed, big-armed pro-style QB with raw tools and high ceiling.

Jamarcus could have been better. After he leaves, LSU wins national championship. Jamarcus was lazy and a huge bust in NFL because he thought he was too good to put in the work.

He was and that was not even hostile considering only what 25% capacity was able to be there? What will he do without having a spring football at Auburn and if he would have to play in a hostile environment like LSU or any other top SEC team?

Who gave up on him?
