?!?!?

A&M was fine with unequal revenue sharing the entire history of this conference and last summer when they (supposedly) could have gone to the SEC (with their equal revenue sharing) they chose to stay in the Big 12 with a really sweet (for A&M) unequal revenue sharing structure.

BG, once again, you are impervious to facts.

Bingo. And we are leaving the Big XII because it's an uncertain dying conference and because we can.

The SEC was going to be a bigger payout for A&M and an equal footing.

When Beebe promised $20 million Beebe bucks (actually more than what the SEC pays out currently), it would have been foolish not to take it.

The point A&M is making is they know the conference is doomed NOW because of unequal revenue sharing and the fact that TV contracts are being re-upped incredulously across the board.

You are ignoring the peripheral circumstances as to why unequal revenue sharing is unacceptable now.

I agree that a quick glance could support your argument, but if you think A&M all of the sudden addressed this issue last year (or Texas or OU or anyone in the Big 12), you'd be wrong. Its always addressed at the AD meetings on a yearly basis.

FTR, I'm hearing the new SEC (if A&M moves) teams will get $34 mil each/year for media rights compared to I believe $17 now

You're welcome

Why do we want them again?

To make Arkansas' 3-11 bowl record in their last 14 bowl games not look so bad...?

Some are saying they will just add Texas A&M for a year and then pick up a team from the ACC for the Eastern Division.

It won't be a big 12 school. It'll be a school from the east. Another big 12 school will be added when/if it expands to 16.

0U likely will go to the PAC with Tech and Ok St eventually

Don't assume that the SEC won't fill up on the schools it wants when the Big12 folds up. You can bet your arse that the pac12 will be sniffing at some of the other schools as soon as one leaves.

I do believe when the big12 folds, we will see the 16 team conferences. Adding one from the east wouldn't cut it, and Slive will be going for schools that will bring money to the table.

BigKat, where you getting that number from? I could definitely see an increase from $17 to $22/24, but $34 mil?!?

That would be outrageous for each school to be pulling in that kind of TV money.

Can't wait for the official announcement of A&M coming to the SEC. Let's do this! I'm all for the rich getting richer.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that there is zero chance we go to 13 teams...even for a year.

I think A&M is a done deal, it's just a matter of time.

I feel confident the SEC wants to have an even number in the longrun, but it wouldn't surprise me if we stayed at 13 for a year or two until the other (hopefully Eastern) team is finalized.

The 13 thing is not that big a deal. everyone knows the SEC will get to 14 (or possibly 16) as the next step.
