A&M would be a solid addition... geographically, it makes sense... would be one of the stronger academic institutions... large fanbase... opens Houston/East Texas markets... solid/well rounded athletic department.

it makes sense from both perspectives, imo

I was thinking there needed to be another Texas AM thread today. Thanks for making that happen.

TExas A&M would fit in nicely in the SEC. They would jet past Texas in recruiting as well as in being a talented football team. It would make A&M a better team to play in the SEC on a regular basis. It would take them about two years to make Texas their bitch.

I hope they come to the SEC.

Holy shite, I was listening to F Bomb and he said he would have Woody McCorvey from the ACC on. There should be some offensive genious gleamed from that episode

Expansion would be fresh, new, and exciting, but I currently love how scheduling is done and how rivalries are kept in tact and artificial rivalries are manufactured (ala LSU-Florida). I like the rotating of opponents as well, and something is going to give if we add two more teams. Maybe one more conference game, but I definitely do not like that.

They get us additional TV markets that we would not otherwise have. They could generate merchandise sales. From a football standpoint I believe it'd open Texas recruiting a little more to the SEC, even if it may slightly diminish LSU's influence there.

BWAHAHAHAHA, that's one of the dumbest damn things I've ever read on any TD Boards and that's saying something.

not really. i live in A&M country. Houston and the surrounding area has the second largest LSU alumni in the country and they know it.

I don't think this thread went how the OP intended

And geesh. MSB please. If sonmething new is a buzz like this morning, one thread is fine. But a flame post from a longhorn to an Ag needs to be on Orangebloods or TexAgs

Also, OP, 24-17. See you on Thanksgiving

I thought this was funny:

It seems we're going to keep hearing these "Texas A&M leaving the Big 12" rumors right up to the day Texas leaves the Big 12.
