I only started listening to the Finebaum show over the past year or so, but his comments today on Cam Newton were some of the dumbest most ignorant comments I’ve ever heard from someone in the media. His comments definitely seemed like they were personal, I was quite confused.

Now, I don’t think Finebuam is all that great to begin with. I mostly listen to his show because I think the callers are pretty entertaining. So was just wondering if there was history here of when Cam was at Auburn.

He knows his fanbase. He also likes to stir the pot and always has.

Cam beat bama. Finebaum sounded like somebody kicked his dog the following Monday. It.was.glorious.

The two guys at the table absolutely hammered Finebaum on his take too.

Okay, what did he say?

It was only a huge topic on his show every day in the fall of 2010. Culminating in the infamous Harvey Updyke incident.

After praising Eli, he said cams career was over and he’s done nothing but bring the panthers down since 2011, and no one should feel sorry for Cam because Cam has never cared about anyone other than Cam.

This is probably the funniest part. It’s not like he singlehandedly carried them to a Super Bowl.

Yeah dude, sorry I haven’t been following Finebaum for the last 10 years and know exactly the backstory on this.

Paul’s a dumb arse.

Eli only cared about himself when he refused to play for San Diego after they drafted him. I wonder why he gets a pass for that & other shite.

It was epic when the Cam pay for play story broke. The most must-hear radio of my lifetime.

The SEC rant thread was legendary too.

I don't know, man.

Seems like Ryan Clark was taking it quite personal and trying to make it a not so thinly race thing by comparing Eli and Cam.

I was streaming WJOX most every day.
It peaked when Danny Sheridan said he was coming on with the bagman tape and then the next day said his lawyer advised him to sit on it. The fact that Finebaum still has Danny Sheridan on the air tells you all you need to know about both of them.

Probably because he won two Super Bowls while he was the starting QB of the Giants.

For me, personally, nothing will top Richard Condon and Jamie Howard having a Meet Me at Sonic moment live on the air. I think that was in the aftermath of the eight bazillion INTs he threw against Auburn in 1994.

But yeah, the whole CamGate saga was quite captivating on a national level. My favorite moment of all was when the Bama PA dude trolled Cam with "Take the Money and Run" and "Son of a Preacher Man" followed by Cam having the last laugh in the CamBack later that same day.

Still the gold standard of conspiracy threads on tRant. Chicken probably funded his retirement off of that thread.

Nothing they connected the dots to ever panned out. It was an epic failure. I so enjoyed fricking with them right up to the time it was shut down.
