I always liked these (helmets and uniforms). Wish they never would have changed them.

I'll always remember these helmets fondly. The earliest Alabama football memory I have is the two Florida players running into each other on this play.

During that time period of CFB, didn't most programs have numbers on the helmets? Wasn't it due to the introduction of televised games? I know LSU used to have numbers only on our helmets too

Those were top notch. I don't know why UK went with the current design. I don't like the new ones at all. The classic blue and white was a good looking uni combo all the way around. Uniforms change but they could've easily left the main elements alone and just tweaked it instead of changing them completely.
