For me it would be either 2008 Georgia which came out of nowhere with Sundiata Gaines playing out of his mind or 2000 Arkansas, which was kind of the last hurrah for Nolan Richardson

Gotta with Ole Miss and Marshall Henderson.

I have no doubt a few Kentucky fans stayed to cheer them on against Florida.

Can’t be 2008 Georgia as they lost in the first round.

Cinderella would be Final Four teams such as Virginia Commonwealth, Loyola Chicago, Wichita State, George Mason to name a few.

2006 George Mason might be the most surprising of them all as they were a mid-major at-large meaning they didn’t win the CAA, the conference they were in at the time.

FGCU Dunk City several years back when they made a Sweet Sixteen run is another good Cinderella.

This is about the SEC tournament not the NCAA.

That Georgia team was horriawful (dead last in the SEC I think) and beat some really solid teams. They are still the lowest seeded power 5 school in the big dance (I think we were a 14 seed )

Not to mention they had to play a freaking doubleheader to beat a fresh #1 seed Miss State team after beating Kentucky in the morning

Yeah that's another reason it was so memorable, games were postponed due to a tornado I believe so there was a double-header lmao

Damn it! Reading comprehension would be wise on my part. My apologies. Clearly the 2008 Dawgs then. The Tornado Dawgs!

Marshall Henderson and his island of misfit toys. Not one player on that whole team went pro (none were even close) yet we still won 27 games and an SEC championship. That year was AK's crown jewel as a basketball coach.

Henderson and Ole Miss obviously

I still think our 05 team was a great story. That team was not picked by many to do anything. We were considered a rebuild from a lot of players leaving(like David Lee).

Then absolutely destroyed everyone in the tourney. Then went back and did it again despite players being top ten picks(and number 1 overall possibly in Noah). I know everyone hates UF, but that's a remarkable thing to accomplish.

1985 Auburn. Not a very good team. Great SEC Cinderella.

The year before that I remember Florida beating Kentucky in the SEC tourney final after LSU had played an epic semi with UK that I think left the Cats exhausted. That was kind of the last of Tubby Smith's great teams I think

Bama beating Kentucky in Rupp in 82.

Not completely a cinderella team as Bama was the #3 seed, but still great to see them beat UK on their floor in the championship game.

Auburn in 2019 by far.

I’m definitely biased because they knocked out kU, and I also got to attend their Sweet 16 game against North Carolina in Kansas City.

Gotta be the tornado year with Georgia. I thought the hogs had it in the bag after taking down a loaded tenner team. That whole tourney was just crazy.

Yep Tennessee went to the elite 8 in one of the best tournaments I've seen. Pelphrey maxed out on his first season, thought he'd do great with yall tbh

Remember Facebook did a bracket challenge that year and the whole leaderboard was nothing but George mason fans

That was a pretty good series about that time. Loved playing Wimp. He added a lot of spice to the matchups.

Definitely the 2008 Georgia team. fricking Billy Gillispie. What a GD arse clown. I dont think Kentucky had EVER lost to UGA in the SECT before that game. After that I bandwagoned for UGA since UK wasnt doing shite.

2008 georgia. A power conference team with a 14(!!!) seed in the Big Dance.

And iirc, they gave that 3-seed Xavier (who went to the Elite 8) squad everything they could handle and then some.
