If your team makes the championship, do you skip the wedding and watch the game, or do you skip the wedding and tune in?

Let’s say it is your brother who did not go to an SEC school and is not a football fan’s wedding?

This is basically the same thing

If it’s my brother I’m going to the wedding
Because I’ll also be the best man.

I could say something also like “a wedding day is only once” and the game is every year but this probably doesn’t stand for us as I don’t see us making the title game any time soon.

But family comes first.

To be fair if it’s any family member I’m going.
If it’s a buddy who lives far away I’ll probably only go depending on where the wedding is and how close of a friend they are.

When I was 25 and hot blooded, I would have said skip the wedding.

As a slightly older and wiser man, I’d say “unless you’re an Alabama fan or UGA fan, you aren’t going to have to worry. And if you ARE an Alabama or UGA fan, there will be other SCGs to go to.”

You should plan on going since Florida will win the east this year.

I will catch the wedding for their second marriage. It will come a lot sooner than State getting back to the SEC championship game.

Go to the wedding, turn the volume on the game up load and keep telling everyone to be quiet so you can hear the game. They'll get the hint...

As a Arkansas fan, we won't have to worry about this problem.

I’m sure it’ll be a lovely wedding. Please kiss the bride for me.

Go ahead and decline early then. Absolutely mention the game as why. Are the bride or groom uga/bama fans?

This far out, anyway to schedule the wedding at a different time of day?

The SECCG time slot is probably already determined, unlike most regular season games. Therefore, you should be able to schedule the wedding around it.

Generally, the game starts around 3-4 PM.

Well if it’s your brother and you’re not even in the wedding, which I am assuming by your simple ‘skip the wedding’ comment without reference to being groomsman, usher etc,, then he probably thinks you’re an arse anyway so you not showing up more than likely wouldn’t be the biggest surprise or disappointment.

That’s another thing.
The reception normally starts at 5:30 6, the game will be over /close to being over at that time

You can stream the 4th quarter or watch it at the bar that’s attached to or near the reception hall

If my team is in then I am skipping the wedding and anyone who knows me will not think ill of me.

Hell we went to Disney(yeah I know) this year at that time and I told my wife, "By some miracle State makes the SECcg I am renting a car and going." She said "I know." I got a good one

If it’s family, simply attend the wedding and give them shite about it for the next 10-20 years every time you see them. This is a pretty easy answer

It won't affect Illinois weddings at all.

There was a video recently of an Auburn wedding during the NCAA tourney. They had TV's in the church

I don't have a brother, so it looks like I don't have an issue.
