It's the exact same thing Bama claims, well except for the whole actual vote and presentation of the trophies. Other than that exactly the same.

I did not look it up, but if this is the year I am thinking about...it is the year I learned to hate the team that was named National Champions. No way they should have jumped everybody else. The media has been pumping them up before and since.

I’m confused every source says Notre Dame won the 1977 title. I’m guessing any claim by Arkansas is not legit.

We were ranked ahead of them. We beat the shite out of number 2 Oklahoma with like 6 starters suspended. Notre Dame beat number 1 and jumped from number 6 to number 1.
By any and all standards Arkansas was the NC. Some football historians agreed and have assigned it to Arkansas. Under the current scoring sytem and BCS system. Arkansas was the NC. We're claiming it. frick Notre Dame in the ear.

I was at that Texas / Norte Dame Game. One thing I remember about that season … other than that game as a child… was piggy didn’t win the NC.
