There are more MsState fans in Memphis than bama fans. I'd go as far as to say there are more than UT too. There are probably as many or more Kentucky fans than Vandy fans.

I don't see nearly that much UT stuff around here.
They are here. They are just in hiding at the moment. 11 years of losing to your main rival has that effect. I remember the 90's and you could see a lot more Orange back then, and we will see it again when they are good again. I mean, we are half an hour from the state line. They are here I assure you.

contrary to the local media's assertion and the assumption of many others, Bama is between 2-2.5 times greater than AU throughout the state as a whole. Bham is even more of a Bama town.
I agree Bama fans are 2-2.5 times greater in number than Auburn fans in the state as a whole... In fact i think its probably triple... but I disagree that Birmingham is "even more of a Bama town." Sure it certainly breaks for Bama as a whole, but Auburn has a much greater presence in Birmingham than it does in other parts of the state.
I live in the OTM area, and I'd say its a 50-50 split between Bama and Auburn fans. The further you drive away from the OTM area, Bama fans start to dominate more and more.
I went to both the websites for the University of Alabama and Auburn to look at enrollment data from the major high schools in the Birmingham area.... Auburn actually has a very large advantage when it comes to accepting students from these schools. This is from the latest "First Time Freshmen" students to enroll in the Fall of 2017:
Mountain Brook High School: 95 kids to Auburn; 95 kids to Alabama (50%-50%)
Homewood High School: 46 kids to Auburn; 26 kids to Alabama (64%-36%)
Vestavia Hills High School: 119 kids to Auburn; 71 kids to Alabama (63%-37%)
Hoover High School: 79 kids to Auburn; 79 kids to Alabama (50%-50%)
Spain Park High School: 66 kids to Auburn; 47 kids to Alabama (58%-42%)
Oak Mountain High School: 63 kids to Auburn; 48 kids to Alabama (57%-43%)
Briarwood Christian: 53 kids to Auburn; 25 kids to Alabama (68%-32%)
John Carroll Catholic: 16 kids to Auburn; 11 kids to Alabama (59%-41%)
These 8 high schools capture probably 95% of the kids in the Over-the-Mountain Area, and based off the kids that enrolled at either of the two schools last year, Auburn enrolled 537 kids from the area compared to 402 kids who went to Alabama. That's a 57%-43% advantage towards Auburn when it comes to students who chose one or the other.
Now obviously there are kids from these schools that go elsewhere in state (UAB, Troy, Samford, etc.) and quite a large number go out of state, but this is a giant area in which the vast majority of kids go to 4-year colleges. And sure some kids may end up going to either Auburn or Alabama to achieve a certain degree while their fandom lies with the opposite team, but by and large that's not common. These 8 high schools actually acccount for nearly 20% of the total number of in-state students at Auburn and Alabama.
I think its a pretty good indicator that shows the OTM area is very close to a 50/50 split. When you go further south into Shelby County or up in Trussville, Bama starts to get more of an advantage. Once you get to the more rural areas of the metro (like Walker County, St. Clair County, Bibb County, etc.), that's when Bama really takes over.
All this to say, my experience living and working in the city is that Bama has a distinct advantage. However, its not nearly as distinct here compared to other areas of the state (like west Alabama all the way from the Shoals in the North down to Mobile in the South).
Auburn's high concentration of fans seems to be in the first few suburbs south of Birmingham, Huntsville, East Montgomery, and around Dothan.... and of course Auburn itself. In those areas its closer to 50/50. Outside of those areas, its like 90-10 Bama

I grew up in Decatur and I would have guessed closer to 80/20.
I moved away 15 years ago, I guess Auburn has gained a few fans in that time.
Decatur is still very much pro-Bama from what I know. Huntsville has a lot of Auburn fans because its a big engineering town. Its closer to 50-50, but you also have a lot of transplants in Huntsville that either cheer for other teams or who don't care at all.

Agree for the most part, but from what I've seen I think there are slightly more Tar Heels and I'd put Clemson closer to NC State.

Seems too high for LSU and too low for all of the rest on that list. I'd say the Bama percentage is probably even higher.

I live in Nashville and there’s 10-15 Arkansas people from my 2010 class alone. A ton more within 3 years plus or minus me.
I see just as many Hog plates as anyone sans UT, Vandy and maybe Bama.

Yeahhhh it's more like 60-70% LSU. You'll obviously see a bunch of Tulane, but most of the city doesn't really care how they do because they also pull for LSU (translation: most of them went to UNO). Ole Miss at 15% is pretty accurate, unfortunately.

Why estimate, Here is a site that list it per Zip Code LINK
The site also breaks down fandom county by county. Let's take a look at the counties in the Gulf Coast area.
Mobile County is 51.3 percent Alabama fans, 21.5 percent Auburn fans and 7 percent Jags fans.
Baldwin County is 46.7 percent Alabama fans, 26.8 Auburn fans, and 4.7 percent LSU fans.
Escambia County, Alabama primarily pulls for the Tide, at 53.9 percent, the Tigers 27.5 percent and the Gators 2.9 percent.
Clarke County roots for Alabama 53.4 percent, Auburn 30 percent and the LSU Tigers 2.7 percent.
Washington County supports the Tide 59.8 percent, the Tigers 24.7 percent and LSU 2.8 percent

Disclaimer: I went to South and LSU so it's entirely possible those numbers don't add up to 100.
