ETA- Malzahn wasnt even comparable to Harsin- a guy that did nothing.
How in the frick did you lump Malzahn (yelling and circling his hands constantly) to stoic bryan anyways.

I remember many AU fans bitching and complaining because Malzhan and Harskin exhibited zero emotion or aggression on the sidelines. Do you recall Gus' calm demeanor when he was ok with those mediocre W/L records and bowl losses? And before you respond, I'm fully aware that Auburn shite canned both to the tune of +$70MM. Who wants a coach standing on the sidelines staring into space and showing zero urgency or attention to the details of the game? Or a coach who makes excuses after a loss because he failed to actually coach or get involved in the game prep?

He was also 72 years old. 7 to 10 years older than most people when they retire.
That probably had something to do with it.
At some point you just hang it up, take a step back and lessen the drama and bullshite to enjoy what you've accomplished. There are plenty men that are establishing themselves and trying to prove themselves in the coaching profession, let them grind every day.

The Greatest head coach in all of College Football. I respect how he handled and controlled his players on the team, and how he didn't waste his talent, but even with lesser talent than years past, he still takes the best team in the nation down to OT. One hell of a coach Bama got. Best of luck in retirement, Saban.

Not surprised to read this, but it is depressing. It's easy to blame greedy players, but the reality is that this represents a failure by the NCAA. If we had logical rules governing transfers and NIL, we wouldn't be dealing with all the me-first, mercenary bullshite coming from the players.

This new mentality will cause a bunch of old school coaches to retire or go to the NFL.
This is exhausting to deal with year after year, month after month, week after week.

We had a good run, fellas. The CFB we all grew to love and support is way long gone. It gets easier to hunt every damn year.
