Only 15 National Titles? I’m being told regularly that it’s anywhere from 17-22 including 2 and 3 loss seasons. It’s like Auburn claiming 1993 and 2004.

How about AP/UPI/Coaches Titles only? I think that's fair.

Most Bama fans claim 16 titles. Only 1941 of the 17 claimed by the University is bogus. Bama does not claim perfect 1945 or 1966 or any number of other years. THey have been named by one or more national selectors in 30 separate years. Of course many of those years are a joke and neither Bama fans nor the University claim them.

No, the 2 seasons that Bama could claim but doesn't (like AU's 93 and 04) are 1945 & 1966.

All 4 teams were undefeated seasons & were picked by some minor pollsters, but were beat out by other schools by the big polls.

And yet we’d still be way ahead of whatever dog shite your own program has put together.

So 5 of the top 15 FBS are charter SEC members. Not too shabby.

Incorrect. Alabama does not claim a title after WWII that wasnt AP, UPI, BCS or CFP. Having said that AU does have a team they should legitimately claim in 1913

Awarded before the bowl game in which they lost to the team with a rightful claim.

I’d be pretty ashamed of claiming that one, but that’s just me.

Show me a school that was awarded the AP/UPI title that doesnt claim it including teams that lost their bowl game

You claim a title where you didnt even play in a bowl game and you claim the 1943 title when you lost to Great Lakes Navy, whatever TF that is, in the final game. Purdue meanwhile went undefeated including beating Great Lakes Navy. Sounds pretty shameful

I don’t have to show you: I’ll state it unequivocally - any team that claims a title after a bowl loss shouldn’t claim it. Doubly so if they lost to the other team with a legitimate claim.

And the 43 title isn’t even in the same universe as the 41 Bama title, so let’s not go there.

Yale....what a joke! First one in 1892 when they went 1-0. The first 7 National Championships they won consisted of 22 wins total. The last one was in 1927.

Any team that refuses to play in a bowl game shouldnt claim a title. UPI decided to award it before the bowl game. The trophy is in Tuscaloosa, you can go see it.

I agree. Bama shouldnt claim 1941 just like Notre Dame shouldnt claim 1943 based on your logic. Losing to Great Lakes Navy? Especially when there was an undefeated team across the state? Shameful.

Edit: Holy hell, I just looked it up. ND refused to play in a bowl game for SEVEN of their national championships.

The real trophy is in South Bend. You can pop in and see it whenever you want.

Can’t see how Bama fans sleep at night with that claim.

Guess they should've refused to play in a bowl like y'all did all those years. Can't have it both ways.
