Well hell yeah they do (did). Think about a P5 conference coach. All of them former athletes, most of them were big man on campus, middle aged, envied by most of their peers, flush with insane amounts of money, most recognized figure in town, and one of the 5-6 most powerful men in their respective state. Now multiply that by a power of three if they are in the SEC.
The difference is, you cant be as big of a douchebag that Petrino was AND be getting it in house around the same people who have to deal with your egotistical arse everyday. Now, doing it with the girlfriend of the strength coach (if that is indeed true?) is taking the ego thing to a shockingly new level

He was also very arrogant and the talk was that people who worked under him, didn't like him and he said the hog call was hokey. He pissed off a lot of former razorbacks by removing them in high positions at the BAC.
So when he got fired at Arkansas, it was a revenge firing believing he was not liked at all and not firing Bert was an excuse to get rid of him.

Jeff long had to approve the hire and did so. But he supposedly didn't know the affair was going on but it was obvious that a married man was with her at a lot of places so that should have brought suspicion.
When he was with Kansas, he supposedly didn't know that the acrobatic dancers with poles at a Kansas basketball game were strippers. So be blamed Snoop Dogg for it but according to Snoop at a podcast, he said Long was a liar and it was his idea.

Those are rumors but they do make sense to an extent. He was probably blackmailed and if he talked to any soul about it then he gets his asked kicked again supposedly. This is why maybe he lied to the media and Jeff Long because the threat of an arse kicking was looming large if he did speak about it.

I mean, just for the sheer chaos of it, you HAVE to hope this is all true. And of course that it comes out soon. Complete with photos, texts, and voice recordings. Video would be too much to ask, but one can always hope!

Petrino stewed on that for a year. He saved plays all the next season just to use them against LSU in the defacto sugar bowl play in game.
That beat down of LSU was one of the most fun games I’ve been to.
