I don't care about NCAA. If a player can get 20 bucks an autograph- HE SHOULD! If he can get 10 bucks for a game worn sock- TAKE IT!
There should be a session after EVERY GAME for players to sell whatever to whoever pays the most.
Season tickets are at least 450 a book at Auburn.
If we want to watch english and math majors play intramurals, then lower ticket prices.
Get rid of the "compliance officers" making 6 figures and let's get work release agreements with the prisons.

How much does a College Education cost? Room & Board, Food, Books, etc...multiply it by 4-5 years.
Throw in all the free clothes and other things they get...
Add it all together and they're probably making more right now then alot of kids graduating.
How many people here wouldn't take that deal?

they can get up to 17k in cash a year on top of all the benefits and scholarship.
They are being groomed for 2/3(player, coach, whatever their major is) careers for free. with 1/2 of those careers could garner them millions of dollars and the career in their major they a getting contacts to people that a normal student would have access to.
These athletes get so much, yet they still want more. nothing will ever be enough

let's see, because people break the rules you are in favor of getting rid of the rules. cool. anarchy rules. a society w/o rules will not be what you think it is. for some reason, EVERY time there is controversy, sport or not, a segment wants to blame the rules (or the ref, or the law, or whatever). what we need is responsibility and accountability in all facets of our society. allowing college football players to openly profit from their position brings forth a host of problems you may not be able to anticipate. players have always fudged and taken extra benefits from fans and boosters and i don't ever see that changing but an out an out "free market" will turn every program into a whores paradise.

Is Auburn plan on buying another qb in the near future?

And what to stop some booster from Auburn from paying $180,000 for some autographs? It then becomes an advantage to the larger schools...

or schools have a "signing day"

It was be a giant bidding war for the top recruits (more so then ever). Who's to say a coach tells a recruit, sign this football and we'll have a booster but it for $50k?
There really is no good way to pay players. Any way you do basically voids their "amateur" status.

Exactly. These athletes also dont have to take out student loans like a normal citizen and begin their career in debt.

giving these kids wads of cash is a great idea
Im sure it'll be spent wisely on things like charitable contributions and roth IRAs and such.

Dunno, probably about what they pay me.
It's not the same though. The NCAA gets to make money off the likeness of players, and allow the players nothing in compensation. A job may not pay you the value of your work, but they're not using your image to make money either.
