Next years selection Committee won't be so kind as we now have 3 years of evidence of being exposed.
There won't be any change.
The only potential change would be Notre Dame gets in over Bama, but I'm not even sure that would happen because the Committee, ESPN, and Conference Championship games are all too involved with each other.
Utah and BYU aren't getting in over an SEC team with similar record and there were no 2 loss Big 10 teams this year to place over the 2 loss SEC schools.

Here's the real story. Now that teams have to earn it on the field - how do we know the SEC would have done as well in previous years?
Probably the same, it is just that the SEC was paying players on a scale not done anywhere else in the country. Now that everyone can pay, the B1G has more money.
Even historically bad B1G teams like Indiana have billionaire backers. This is at least 2 years in a row when even the middle and bottom of the B1G is beating the SEC and the B1G has been playing 9 conference games the whole time.

I don't believe this is true at all.
The top schools like Texas, Oklahoma, Miami, Ohio State, Michigan, USCw, and Oregon have been paying players just as much as the top SEC schools in the past.

They’re all in the portal looking to get paid instead of in the gym working on offseason nutrition/S&C.
The portal is not some physical space these players are convening in, keeping them out of the weight room.
They can simultaneously be in the portal while still focusing on strength and nutrition.

What’s really sad is why Mizery fans get on a message board and have no clue what they are talking about …. OU Outgained Bama …… their defense didn’t lose the game ….. maybe it was the fact the qb threw a pick six ? Or the field goal kicker with wind missed two long field goals …. Or the punter dropping the punt …. Zero of that is on the defense lol.

Also would like to add why is it the sec is the only conference that ever has to play each other in the first round ? The big ten in two years hasn’t had to play a team from its conference until the semifinals .

A&M played Miami closer than anyone else.
So let that sync in.
So let that sync in.

Big10 never said that but if they did it wasn’t valid.

Let's be honest. The coaches outside of Smart, aren't as good as they were 10 or 15 years ago

Sync in? You had a home game against Miami, and scored a whole 3 points after running up scores on LSU and the like. Let that sink in.

Well the most talented region of the country is getting poached in the name of fairness. What do you expect…

“Could have made an all SEC title game”
In what world would that happen. The SEC has not won a playoff game against a top 10 team in 2 years off the 12 team tourney. The average loss is 14 points!
That can all change quickly, but damn, let’s be honest about it.

Since Georgia last won the Title....
SEC is 2-7 in the Playoffs
0-4 against the Big10 in the Playoffs
How do you drop off so quickly and dramatically? Tables, the sport flipped instantly and the SEC was left holding old money bags.

Bawhaha what a stupid post. The SEC is failing to grasp and adapt to the new $$ portal realty based on current 2026 acquisitions according to ESPN. The old system of stacking blue chippers is over thanks to the old and established fact that $$ talks.
Schools such as UI, Texas Tech, TAMU, Texas, Oregon, tOSU, etc will just use their war chest to pluck the best players as they arise. Its already happening for the 2026 season. The lower 50% of the SEC is at a serious long term disadvantage if the current system holds.
Do most SEC team have the alum war $chests to compete in this new reality. Will Walmart $ save Arky? What of Ole Miss, Miss State, LSU, AU, even Bama- do they have the pockets and the alum loyalty to compete in this new enviro. Its a fair question.

Big Ten fans used to say the same thing 15 years ago. “We beat each other up” “our conference is just too physical”. Always had an excuse for why the B1G had a losing bowl record
15 years ago, bowl games, especially new years bowls games meant everything as far as perception to get into next year's BCS game.
Today, they are 100% meaningless, and there's the transfer portal etc.
Now add that in to B1G coaches still bragging they beat SEC teams in bowl games-- and all you're seeing is the little brother that is still fighting a fight that's over b/c he's mad he lost when it mattered.
The B1G was 1 - 2 vs the SEC during the regular season.

I guess we could have had a JMU vs Tulane final too

Did not need to read it little Big 8 and Big 12 bro. I have lived it for 50+ years watching Missouri fail. Like the sun rising in the morning, Missou failing is daily guarantee.

The SEC is getting manhandled at the LOS. That was once what made it strong.
Wtf happened to the big DT’s that this conference once bred and made it impossible to run on? It’s like they’ve all disappeared.
