A lot of models are having trouble determining how good Missouri is because their schedule has been absurdly easy to date. Using Sagarin as a base, there are a lot of G5 schools that have played significantly tougher schedules so far than Missouri.
Missouri, in fact, has played the easiest schedule in the SEC by a significant margin per Sagarin (used because they include all programs at the FBS and FCS level).
Missouri's schedule is 150th to date; the next easiest schedule in the SEC so far is Oklahoma's at 87th.
For context, if Missouri were in the Sun Belt, only one team would have an easier schedule to date (Louisiana-Lafayette). There are 5 programs in the Big Sky conference that have played tougher schedules to date. Among FBS conferences, their schedule would be:
2nd easiest in the American Athletic
Easiest in the ACC
Easiest in the B1G
Second easiest in the Big 12 (by 1 spot - Texas Tech is 151st)
Third easiest in CUSA
Second easiest in the MAC
Easiest in the Mountain West
Easiest in the Sun Belt
So if people are wondering why models vary as to how good Missouri is, that's why.
Case in point, if you sort the SEC by any metric on cfbstats.com by "vs ranked opponents", Missouri is the only team who isn't listed. Everyone else has played at least 1 (and 4 programs have played 3 so far).
I'm not saying "Missouri sucks" - I am saying that you can expect a computer model to have a good idea of a team when they haven't played anyone. It's similar to playing NCAA Football on JV mode and winning by a hundred every game - that doesn't tell you anything about how good you'll be on Heisman mode, or against other players. You may destroy them too, or you might get wrecked.

And we all know the SEC officials do everything they can to prevent that.

I feel a lot better about Bama's qb situation going into this game. Bama has a qb that knows this offense and performing at an elite level. Last year it was Jekyl and Hyde. Didn't know from game to game what they were going to get.
If the defense plays just a little better with their gap fits by the lb's the game will come down to if Mizzou's defense can hold Bama's offense in check. Should be another good SEC game.

I don't know what to think of this game. So I'll just watch and find out.
Will the Tigers finally get over the hump and win a game like this, or will it be the same ol' story -- close but no cigar like a few games against UGA, or an embarrassing blowout?
One thing is for sure: Bama with 1 loss has more at stake. So any idea they will be overconfident can be laid to rest. They will be looking to make a statement, and despite all the negativity about DeBoer, I respect the guy. He's been a winner, and now he has his guy at QB.
Drinkwitz has successfully raised the level of expectations and the level of recruiting. He probably has more talent on his roster now than ever. So now his team has to meet those expectations. We shall see.

I do like the fact that they went into Athens and won a close game. After going to Doak-Campbell and playing flat. They know the difference in the attitude it takes to win on the road and hopefully carry that onto the road at Mizzou.

Mizzou SOS through current is 107 I think.
That's pathetic.
That's pathetic.

Awww, deflecting and using UK football as the punchline is weird, considering we are all aware that we do not "football" very well.
You, on the other hand, don't seem to realize your level of suck, and that's sad.
Oh yeah: Kentucky leads the all-time series against Missouri with a record of 9-4, as of the 2023 game. Who else can we boast such a record against...

Stick to roundball, dipshit. You wouldn't know what a good football team looks like.

Bama has hit their stride. Tide Rolls by two TD's
Posted on 10/7/25 at 12:45 pm to geauxbrown
Bama has given up 7 yards per carry to UGA and Vandy. Vandy for some reason only ran the ball 18 times - 12 of which were Pavia. Mizzou is going to run it down their throat. It's not unreasonable to think the Tigers will get 10 YPC against the Tide - essentially an automatic first down every time Ahmad Hardy touches the ball.

Yeah I really cant put any stock in the models yet on them for that reason.
Maybe they're a CFP level team. They've been incredibly well against the teams they've played.
But no one including their coaches have any idea if the things that have worked so far YTD will scale against elite teams.
I respect Missouri, but I cant say for sure I know who they are yet and neither can anyone else.

Someone may wanna tell the overzealous Mizzou fans that they still have to stop someone on defense. They will be playing their best QB and while Simpson isn’t Joe Montana, he may look that way compared to the high schools they’ve played
