Putting Arkansas below Carolina when we've shown time and again that we're the superior team is ridiculous.

Same could be said for AU who hasn't lost to USC since the 1930's and has beaten them 3 times in the last 2 years.

LSU would not have the QB's feet to rely on as much and the offense would go to more TE and pro style play calling. He said this would be a big adjustment to make. Keep in mind he didnt say LSU would not be to top 5 he was just saying that to him it would be enough to keep them from being #1.

Mett and Gunner aren't JJ mobile, but they aren't Mallett mobile either. Randall is Shepard with a cannon (accuracy an issue) and Rivers is a project to say the least.

Kinda sad that UGA and USCE are only ranked that high because of how shitty the east is

Kinda sad that Auburn only won the BCSCG because Bama and LSU were down.

See how much sense that makes?

I think the faith in Mettenrapist is a little overzealous so far. I can see why the LSU fans are optimistic, but the situation would be similar to Arkansas (hypothetically) getting a stud JUCO linebacker. Sure, we'd expect him to do great based on his pedigree. But we don't have a history of those types of players, so no one should believe it until he shows it. Same with LSU and QBs. Until Miles' staff shows me that it can put a QB in a position to succeed, I'll be on the fence. The good thing for LSU is they don't even NEED a great QB to win most games since their defense and running game is so good.

Yes, what is incorrect?
I think great is little much to describe your QB and loaded is definitely too much to describe the RB situation. Not saying UGA isn't looking good on paper for next year, but you were getting a little carried away with the hyperbole.

I agree. This Carolina infatuation, whether it be with Spurrier or the funny mascot, has got to stop. There was a guy on the experts that had them preseason #3.

1-5 I would switch LSU and Alabama and Arkansas and South Carolina. 6-8 are all interchangable to me. I would put A&M ahead of Tennessee and State ahead of Vandy.

Georgia gets more love. And it's more unwarranted.

Focus your attention on them!

Mettenberger is about as smart as a wheelbarrow full of rocks so I would lower my expectations and hope for the best if I were an LSU fan.

It's amazing to me that people forget that JL won 8 games as a starter...EIGHT! And JL is just a shorter, fatter version of Mett. So what needs to change? If anything our offense was worse with JJ than JL, but "saving" the Bama game sealed their respective fate.

Ummmmm....

You mean like when Jarrett Lee played 99% of the snaps for the first 8 games this year? That kind of play calling?

I would completely discount Kiel and Rivers as viable options for being #1 at the end of the year. Yeah LSU will have the D to be in every game they play next year but first year starters of that kind winning a BCS Title is not happening. Granted A.J. and Greg McElroy did it as first year starters but keep in mind both had three years in the system up to that point.

Keep in mind Ala. is losing their 4 year OC and getting a new one. That will be an adjustment I'm pretty sure.

Actually, this was the offense we ran with Lee. An offense that had a passing game and put up points in the first half. An offense that utilized the TEs, WRs, and RBs equally.

We're going to run that offense with Mettenberger and it's the reason why I would have LSU no.1. Just having a threat of a passing game will do wonders.

We were 106th in passing this year and won more games than any other team. We don't need to get to top 10, just something respectable maybe in the upper half or Top 50 and we'd be fine.

But will have the best returning O Line in the conference which helps alot. I do agree there will be some adjustment for BAMA so I dont see them at #1 but look out for 2013.

Probably not even that far. With your defense and running game, finishing in the top 75 would probably make for a pretty dominant team.
