You'e 11-6 vs SC in athens since Carolina joined the SEC. It's obviously tough, but that record is a tad misleading with SC playing it closer since joining the SEC.

Not saying your fans are bad or your environment stinks, but when you rate home field atmospheres alone, I dont think it should be top 5.

11-5, but you're close.
South Carolina has pulled off some good wins in Athens, but Georgia and South Carolina have been playing for a long, long time, and history shows one team has clearly dominated whether the game is in Athens or Columbia.

Exactly. And thats with uga having much better teams. Its not a tough environment. Williams brice blows it out of the water atmosphere wise.

I believe you might be a tad biased.
If Athens is not a tough environment, why is South Carolina 9-32 in Sanford Stadium?
If Williams Brice is so tough, why does Georgia have a winning record there?

In what world is Carter-Finley stadium one of the toughest 26 places to play?

11 is too low - Kyle Field (at least at night games) Not a fan but those yell leaders get those fans coordinated and loud

If almost 50% of your losses, regardless of the number of losses, is at home, that says there is no significant home field advantage.

Sure. And over the last 20 years, losses in Bryant-Denny stadium account for less than 10% of Alabama's losses yet people are arguing that that has more to do with the team than it does the stadium. However, I feel like that's true in almost all cases. Good teams will typically win games regardless of whether or not the game is at home.

But the argument holds, USC isn’t a team the crowd generally needs to get up for because we win so easily.

OSU at 3 is only true if the game is at primetime against a good team

The environment against Tennessee in the playoffs was as good as I had seen in a while. Against Texas in 2005 was the loudest I've ever heard the Shoe

But OSU gets too many nooners

OSU is prime example of being rated a tough environment because they are a tough team. As you mentioned, way too many noon games, pretty mild mannered fans actually in the stadium due to price of admission, and to a degree lack of quantity of big time games just due to the conference being a little more down up until here recently.

Not to say it isn’t capable of being absolutely a peak environment. It absolutely can be up there with anyone. It just routinely isn’t at current

Yea if they aren’t playing a good team it’s kind of dead.

But as you said OSU is usually pretty good so they win anyway

I personally think homefield advantage is a myth for the most part.

Jalen Milroe disagrees with this take vehemently. The advantage Neyland Stadium afforded Tennessee in our game last year absolutely blew his mind according to his own words. NO WAY we win the 3rd Saturday last season had that game not been played in Knoxville.

Because UGA is usually the much better team.

By the way, I personally don't think Bryant-Denny is an extremely "tough" environment (which is our fault), but since 2008, Alabama has only lost 6 games there.

Are you actually familiar with the full history of South Carolina football? They didn't even start fielding semi competitive SEC caliber football teams until Spurrier gave them a few brief examples in the 2010s of what being good at football actually looks like. Still chasing that 2012/2013 peak of USC football Steve accomplished for them.

That 2013 loss they suffered in Knoxville to the worst Tennessee team in school history arguably will forever blow my mind. Cost them their one best shot at a natty.

They're correct to put LSU TS no. 1, not sure what metrics or criteria they used to rank the rest of the list except I don't disagree with Penn State being no. 2

Notre Dame Stadium ranking no. 21 and behind Utah's stadium should be a crime

also DOAK CAMPBELL at 14???? I mean shite I know they shat the bed during the Taggart years and totally collapsed last year but that place with Chief Oceola and that chant HOLY shite it is so loud and insane

BDS is not a very hard place at which to play in terms of fan atmosphere, it's only hard because of the quality of talent comprising the home team, I've attended many an LSU-Bama game there and I never felt intimidated by the fans and the surroundings
