Not really, that’ll be a typical SEC versus BIG 12 CFP type score. Michigan wins big. Big 12 has proven they should not really be taken seriously in the CFP and even BCS era against the SEC.

I’ll never understand why it matters to supporters of other conferences that SEC teams are playing OOC games in November.

As pointed out, the week Alabama was playing Texas, TCU scheduled Tarleton State. And Michigan? Was their toughest OOC opponent UConn? At least Ohio State managed to schedule Notre Dame.
The SEC plays 4 non-conference games; everybody else plays 3.

The SEC's 4th non-conference game is scheduled in the middle of the stretch run, which gives each SEC team a "bye" week. It makes a big difference.

Not to mention that less Conference games negates guaranteed losses at a 50% clip

The SEC has one elite team and the rest is a rollercoaster depending on the week. So everyone will take their shots and they should.
There’s pretty basic math that indicates which conference is the best. It’s not a mystery.

The SEC West was the best division this year just like it always is. That’s a simple fact.

They opened with Colorado, and their OOC schedule got worse from there.

So... kudos to them for scheduling their bye week in September?

He's specifically talking about having to end the season with 9 consecutive games without any open dates and no OOC cupcakes on their schedule during that stretch. It's a valid point whether you like it or not.

No it isn't. It's stupid to schedule your games that way. Give your players some rest.

Spare me the superior morals of a sanctimonious B1G football fan. The tradition of the #1 jersey at Michigan started with Anthony Carter. He couldn't read at a fifth grade level when the Wolverines recruited him out of Suncoast High School in Riviera Beach, FL, so don't tell me about your academic standards.

big fricking deal I’d put Texas right in the same category as the citadel

Is there a rule on how you space out your patsies?

It’s smart for sec schools to do this before their rivalry week and then hopefully the sec championship game.

To be fair Texas and the citadel are pretty close competitively.

then half of the SEC would have one more loss.

And most of those losses would be concentrated in the same teams that the losses were concentrated this year.

This was exactly what I thought the thread would be about. Sadly disappointed it wasn't.

What people are missing is that the November cupcake means that nobody in the SEC is losing late.

It's always better to lose early than it is to lose late and the SEC has benefitted from this for three decades.

And Michigan was in dogfights with Illinois (you may forget the refs gave them this game on a BS PI call late), Maryland and Iowa (14 losses between them).
