He threw less yards in 2018 than he did in 2019. He had a decent year, he was overrated. I think almost every single Georgia fan will agree that he was overrated, so if you want to die on this hill I certainly can't stop you from being pedantic.

The concern for Mathis is the same issues with Trask last season. No game reps in almost 2 years

Trask actually did play several times (and out threw Franks in 2018 for the Missouri game).

With Mathis we're talking zero live ball. It's a big difference.

From what I see, the starting job isnt won yet. But Mathis has a good shot. He has more tools than the other QBs. Can he get his football IQ where it needs to be and can the OC utilize the team's strengths and hide the weaknesses.

I don't think Kirby can risk JT Daniels knee, honestly. I'd definitely let him take the year off, play Mathis and Beck (it's the Pandemic year, so most people will excuse a difficult season).

Start 2021:

RSJR JT Daniels. (Goes to the Pros after the year)
RSSO D'Wan Mathis.
RSFR (You can play four games, I'd try to preserve his RS) Carson Beck.

I feel like if you frick up Daniels' knee in the Pandemic year, you're seriously just fricking with your future after that.

Big difference for semantics. Thanks for the correction.
I've read about Trask's decision making (which was labeled as weak) and it boils down to experience. At least, that is the Gator excuse because the extra offseason and filmwork should make him better.

If the knee was a concern, he wouldn't be practicing and scrimmaging. He would be on snap counts in practice. I'm not sure you understand ACLs as much as you think you do.

Not going to happen. That isnt Smarts DNA. It isnt the fans DNA.
We have a ton of legitimate upperclassmen for the first time ever in Kirby's tenure. The goals are to win the division, win the SEC, and represent the conference in the playoffs. Given time, the new crop of freshmen can make us a very dangerous team by season's end.

30TD'S 6 INTs and 67% is more than decent and YOU said he was gonna suck after Sony and Chubb left and GTFO with your yardage stat.

I was so looking forward to trask losing his top 3 recovers this year just to see what type year he'd have
of course Fromm lost his top 6

He has the highest completion percentage in Florida history. Better than Rex, Wuerffel, Tebow, he has one of the best computers in college ball right now.

But I get what you're saying.

You're right, we definitely shouldn't let a knee heal when we need to have a QB battle on a shortened off-season while we're changing our offensive scheme and rotating in a bunch of players. They have said that he might not be completely ready to play by week 1, I'd just ride with Mathis.

Of course, I actually care about players avoiding injury.

That ain't gonna happen with a hobbled QB and a guy who hasn't started since high school, and wasn't practicing the entire season last year even.

I think Dawg fans need to seriously temper their expectations this season.

Porksammich begins a thread because Arkansas plays Georgia first this season.

And Ga and Fl decide to make it a piss fest.

LMAO, Wild Bill comes in periodically to flame, and does it well. What a hilarious thread, well done Sammich, well done!

But what’s the point of getting transfers? Let’s get to the point.

Yes it has, Kirby might not have announced it publicly but things have leaked out to hint at Mathis being the winner by default basically with Daniel's still not cleared to even get hit.

You just finished your final scrimmage, they know who the starter is. Its obviously not the guy who can't get hit right now, or the guy who opted out...and highly unlikely to be the true freshman in Beck.

I predicted Fromm would bust out and said that he was only successful because of Michel/Chubb.

For what it’s worth, Fromm 2018 proved you wrong, and so did Kirby.

I always appreciate getting UGA practice and scrimmage info from LSU fans.
