Yeah

He forgot to say that Daniels got most of the situational work, today.

I should never be shocked what I read on here. Everyone is a genius in their own minds.

He is not CLEARED for contact, big difference. Said by your own fans in this very thread. Mathis got all the live game action drives today with 1st team, straight from 247 uga page writeup of it.

Why would he be cleared for contact if he cant be hit? There is no need. This can go all the way to Arkansas. This is what coaches do.

You come off as new to college football.
Is that what we should expect from LSU fans? 1 year college football experts?

Ask your own fans, I very clearly asked if he was cleared for live action and the answer was no he isn't.

He isn't taking live action game style snaps in your latest scrimmage, just "situational" stuff. QBs can get hit or at least touched, en in practice scrimmage settings... you never seen any practice ever? You think d'wan Mathis hasn't been touched the last few weeks at all especially as a runner? Not exactly smart to send fresh qbs out yo slaughter with never being touched for a month leading up to the season.

Every practice qbs probably go through ball security drills when they run the football with people trying to rip the ball out from them, not uncommon at all. QBs get hit many times every game they play in, not a smart idea to have a zero touch rule on them in every practice then expect them togo out and take 10-20 hits in a game.

Mathis will most likely start, so the “situational” stuff from Daniels is because he needs the work coming off injury.

With Blaylock going down, Kirby is a bit gunshy on letting Daniels play to kick things off and risk a re-injury.

It seems if Mathis gets in trouble, he will hit the eject button and sub in Daniels.

There was no spring. 1st team reps are going go players competing for the starting job.
Scrimmage 1, reps were Newman and Daniels.
Scrimmage 2, reps were Daniels and Mathis.
Scrimmage 3, reps were Mathis and Beck.

You dont see the pattern? In an open competition, they all get reps with the 1s.

If LSU defenders are putting hands on your QBs in Baton Rouge, then coach O needs to be fired. This is a conference only schedule. Any twisted ankle or throwing hand hitting a helmet would lose precious reps in a season where 100% of the games determine who plays in the SECCG.

just "situational" stuff

Ummm. This is the most important part of practice. During the season, there are no scrimmages. Just focusing on improving red zone, 2nd and long, etc... all of the things that win games.

LSU probably needs to work on lose ball drills with the QBs. You know. Have the QBs race to a lose ball against live defenders. What could go wrong?

You've made it pretty clear you've never seen a practice in your life if you think qbs literally never even get touched, yes of course its dialed back but again lol if you think there's literally a no touch rule on every qb in everything they do in every practice.

Point still was Daniels isn't even cleared for full go yet so Mathis won this competition by default basically.

You have made it clear that you dont comprehend a season with no spring, limited fall camp, and 100% conference only games.
2020 is different if you haven't noticed (based on your posts, you haven't noticed).

If Kirby isn't letting Mathis get touched for a month leading up starting his first game, good luck with that. I'm sure that'll show up pretty apparently.

Because hitting a QB is the most important part of fall camp, amirite?

Hands on the QB is very important to you.

We are like 5 posts in on the subject.

And no, Mathis isnt being touched. Neither is Beck. Neither is Bennet. There isnt a point to beating up the team in this condensed fall and condensed conference only schedule.

But if you want to put hands on your QBs, go for it. Molest them for all I care. Let's make it 6 posts.

This guy also thinks depth is “odd”.

I find it odd that Georgia fans think they have depth at Quarterback. Let's roll back over it again?

QB1 - Newman opts out.
QB2 - Still not medically cleared for contact.
QB3 - Never played a down of College Ball.
QB4 - FCS transfer, prior walk-on, never gonna start for Georgia.
QB5 - Never played a down of College Ball.

After the first two guys, one who is for sure not playing, the second whose knee has been bothering him for a while, your three Quarterbacks have no first-string experience, two have no experience at all.

That's not depth. JT Daniels is pivotal for "depth", and he's struggling to get cleared two weeks before the season starts, worse yet, he hasn't been live since what, August of last year?

You make bizarre arguments sometimes.

Didn’t realize Urban Meyer coached at Jawja now...Kirby could have a 6 star QB and he’d still suck arse.

Any of the OSU QB's would have excelled at UGA if named starting QB.

We didnt have QB depth with Eason.
We didnt have depth after losing Eason.
We didnt have depth after we lost Fields.
We didnt have depth when we lost Fromm.

So Kirby went to work, and found us depth.

Too bad that guy quit, and the other guy isn't 100% yet. Losing Newman really hurts our depth, and JTD not being cleared would make it way worse.

It’s crazy to think that Kirby heading into year 5 could be looking at another anemic offense and no natty. At what point does the seat begin to warm up in Athens? Surely dawg fans are not satisfied with moral victories in recruiting.
