Drinkwitz uses his time at the podium to plead the case for Mike Leach to be inducted into the CFB HOF…

A lot of coaches would have struggled at places like Texas Tech, Wash St and Miss St
He deserves it

How do you tell the story of College Football without Mike Leach?
Absolutely HOF material.
Absolutely HOF material.

As Mike Leach once said about committes, there's a bunch of people that have not played and or do not understand the game of football to not have Mike leach on the ballot as a priority.

Drink said Coach Leach is one win away from having the mandatory number of wins to get in. Or one win from having the mandatory winning percentage. And the person in charge of admission has, so far, refused to make an exception.

I think he’s made enough of an impact to at least be nominated and voted on. If they don’t do that he should be recognized in the HOF in some capacity. One of my favorite coaches.

I mean it was time better spent and more likely to generate publicity than talking about mizzou.

Good for Drink. Classy move, and he's absolutely right. Leach brought a lot to offensive football. He should be in based on that, despite his record.

Appropriate that his first SEC game set a passing record. I wonder how long 623 will stand?

They won't make exceptions for Erk Russell and Pete Carroll so why would they do it for Leach?
And maybe he shouldn't have lost to 2 games to FCS teams.

Coogs epic choke to UCLA kept him out of the HoF. Damn.

Well that and losing to not 1 but 2 FCS teams.

Brilliant creator who left his mark on how the game is played in a very tangible way. As a Horns fan his offense was almost always infuriating…but that’s what good coaches do. Find the best way to attack, and do so relentlessly. Definite HOF in my humble opinion. Gone WAY too soon.

I wonder how long Nick Fitzgerald's rushing record will stand. I'm thinking stars and space on that one.
