Well that is generally correct but the writing is on the wall. Smaller capacity with more premium seating, chair back seats versus bench seating is the wave of the future.
My wife and I went to Gillette Stadium to see State play UMASS. Every seat is a chair back seat.
Capacity-68,000. The aisles between the rows were wide. You could get up from your seat and walk past people to the end of the row without them having to move.
I would like to see State do similar with Scott Field. Do a make over that eliminates bench seating and makes all seating chair backs with wider space between rows. Close end the south end of stadium with premium boxes, a plaza level and small area of chair back seats. Seating capacity even with addition would probably be around 55K.
But the fan experience is enhanced greatly and I think we still continue to see sell outs consistently.
The State campus is the best manicured in the SEC and the game day experience is one of the best. Doing this would ensure that fans continue to come to the games.
No question that staying home and watching a game on your wide screen TV while sitting in a comfortable recliner will prove to be an appealing choice for fans as well.

So the universities that recognize this faster and adjust sooner will be ahead of the curve and will come out looking better in the next five-ten years.

Weird. A&M still fills up our student section. And we don't put them in the corner either. End zone to end zone, the 12th man yells loud and proud. And yall wonder why we like our traditions.

Too much dead time being at football games. It’s boring compared to watching on tv. Plus you know more about the game watching on tv than being there. You have to text people at home to find out if his foot was in bounds, or a fumble occurred, or if a player is injured. Plus you miss everything going on in rest of CFB world by going to a game. It’s like only your team played that day.

This makes me wonder about the people running your AD and the university overall.

You're not alone. We fired the AD who wanted this expansion and our Board of Trustees is full of morons
