Looks like Florida May downsize BHG to somewhere around 80k. Looking to make more seat room for seat backs and more space for fans that want to be there.

Could this be the beginning of a trend and how long before Tennessee shrinks Neyland to 70k or so, which is what that place was meant to be in the first place.

Any other programs in the league thinking of downsizing?

Honestly, it’s a smart move. The seating bubble has already basically burst.

Bama has plans to remove seats when they add their new jumbotron in the upper deck of the end zone.

Alabama is downsizing in a few years. Turning the south endzone into a plaza of sorts. Mostly a reaction to students not attending.

Yeah. Vandy's 40,000 seats are just too much.

This is just because they can't sell seats to that shite show. This way it looks like they are sold out.

Lol at the poors in Florida.

Universities would have an easier time filling stadiums if the ticket-price bubble would burst. Reducing seats to meet the ridiculous prices rather than lowering prices to fill up the stadiums is bad for fans, but it makes sense for universities from a money standpoint.

Yes battling the temptation of having the best seat in the house (my couch) and drinking beer is hard.

That is where the money is right now. If TN was smart, they would get ahead of the game and reduce their seating to about 90K. Bama, A&M, LSU and UGA have invested too much money in expansion to do something this radical. Ego plays a big part in it.

The 100,000 capacity is not needed with the young fan base these days.

I would like to see LSU change both upper decks in Tiger Stadium.
Make it with larger seats and it could be family friendly with cheaper concessions, cheaper tickets where you could bring a family without outrageous prices.

Agreed. There are a few programs that will consistently sell out but it's peaked for almost everyone else.

Honestly most stadiums should down size for better seats. Attendance is on the decline. Improve the experience so that the people that do come keep going to your games.

Imagine being A&M. They built a stadium for 100k fans and never could get 80k to show up regularly anyway.

Renovating Kyle field to 90k vs 100k probably cost about the same.

If you get 90k for 5 games and 100k for 2 games a year, that’s an additional $1mm in revenue for each of those 100k games.

A&M has averaged over 98k for the last 4 years, 3 of which were over 100k.

It's easy to watch from the house and not have to pay an outrageous price for tickets, food, drinks. You don't have sit in traffic either.
