Not extremely confident but I do like Bama's chances playing in Bryant Denny.

I think there are 5 teams with DE’s that could go in the 1st or 2nd. Fans of teams that have bad defenses are trying to say it’s a competition. A guy said SC might have the best tandem in the country, which is true. It’s true about 4 SEC teams probably. Then they tried to make it a SC vs Georgia to troll.

UGA sabotaged your season by sending you a stiff at QB. You think they let him walk if he were any good?
Beck is gone next season.
Beck is gone next season.

Having said that, nobody at Texas is underestimating Georgia, that game has been circled on the calendar since winter workouts started

I think most programs would dream of the day they struggle so badly they drop from #1 to #2

I don’t think any team is getting by this year without some close calls/upsets. Georgia is still very good.
Georgia is certainly no stranger to winning close games. In the last 4 seasons UGA has lost twice since the Florida game in 2020 and have won by one score or less 9 times. All of those wins except for the win against OSU were tight scores against teams with inferior talent and depth but somehow UGA managed to allow them to stay in the game. It is common in CFB.
Arguably the 2 best teams in CFB history were 2019 LSU and 2020 Alabama and pick 'em. In 2020 Alabama beat Florida by a TD and PAT. 2019 LSU won 3 games by one score or less. It is very common for very good CFB teams to have an off game while their opponent, over matched on paper, has a good game and the result be closer than it seemed prior to kickoff. For all the talent on a team like 2019 LSU you still have a bunch of players who are making a contribution who are not going to the NFL...they are collegel athletes and are prone to losing focus and soiling the linens. Thats the main reason a dynasty such as Saban's is so impressive....it happens there also...they manage to find a way to get the W.

What you just said here in the second sentence is literally doubting Georgia.
You doubt UGA is "as good as advertised".

Yes. They literally have two 1st or 2nd round DE’s. The freshman is probably the best edge from his class. He’s a menace. He beat a Kentucky triple team for a sack. Just swam through that shite with a high motor and ate up the QB. Very impressive.
You added words here: “you’re saying that SC has dramatically better edge rushers”. No one said that. But if Georgia has DE’s going high in the draft, then yes, both are comparable DE’s.
Who are the Georgia DE’s you got as your best tandem? I think A&M’s DE’s will end the year pretty accomplished too.
UGA runs a 3-3-5 base these days so our edge rushers are a DE on one side and a LB on the other. Mykel Williams is our pass rushing DE, but he was injured in the Clemson game and was out against UK. His backup (Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins) got a sack and 2 TFL vs UK.
We don't really have a designated pass rusher on the other side but rather it depends on the formation and defensive play who is coming. Sometimes it's Chaz Chambliss (6 tackles but no TFL vs UK). Sometimes it's Raylen Wilson (1 sack). Sometimes it's Damon Wilson (.5 TFL). Sometimes it's Gabe Harris (1 sack). It's just whoever's playing either the Jack or Will linebacker depending on the play call.
UGA does heavy rotations on the front 7 on defense. We don't have a single set of guys racking up stats. But our defense doesn't tire easily due to the rotations.

Jalon Walker is the LB pass rusher on the other side.

I think Georgia has that type of game once a season more often than people realize..

Not sure exactly what you're trying to indicate here.
The reason BVG left UGA was because Beck was staying this year. If BVG had stayed for next season, he'd only have one year of starting and that's only if he won the starting job.
UGA has a pretty deep QB room.
UGA basically exchanged Vandagriff (who was a 5-star who will be a senior next season) for Rashada in the portal (who was a 5-star who will be a sophomore next season).

Georgia still has dudes on defense. Their main issue is they don't have a security blanket receiver for the the QB on 3rd downs. Their offensive line isn't as good as the last few years, either. That could be due to injury, though.
They have the talent to go undefeated, but they could also lose 3 games.

Not most of the time. He's the #2 Mike on the depth chart.
While UGA rotates LB's in lots of ways, Walker is not a designated pass rusher. He's not even a starter most of the time. He started against Tennessee Tech, but not against Clemson or Kentucky.

The OL issue against UK was largely due to Ratledge getting injured. He just had surgery so won't be back for Bama. I think UGA will be fine with 2 weeks to work in his backup fully... it's always easier to do that in practice leading up to a game than to do it mid-game.
But the reality is UGA has only allowed 1 sack against Beck this season (vs Clemson), so even with the OL injury it hasn't had a huge impact.
As far as the security blanket WR, I think that will come eventually. UGA is working in 2 transfer WR's who are getting significant playing time through the first 3 games and a transfer TE getting the same. UGA also has a couple of other transfer WR's who've gotten less PT so far.
I think it's more a matter of Beck not knowing which guy is his security blanket as opposed to that guy not existing.

How many schools has he been at now? UGA is his 3rd or fourth? Did he sign with Miami? I can’t remember. I know he has pending civil action (against) Florida, was at ASU and is currently at UGA but I thought he signed with Miami before ASU.
He’s definitely the guy you want leading your team. Fully committed to Kirby.

Didn't think I was speaking in code. "Stiff" is a slang term for corpse or dead body.
Vandagrlff sucks. That's what I was trying to indicate.
