I would like to paint this picture as clear as I can.
2022 hs graduates who played 4 years of college football went pro because the rules were the rules. Five years to play 4 seasons.
A few months later the NCAA passed a rule stating that you can have five years now to play five seasons.
For a kid who graduated hs in 2022, that would mean that you have another year until you hit the 5 year window. 2022-2027, five years
The NCAA passed a rule after guys "left" school, keep in mind they have no other option if they wanted to keep playing football. The mistake is on the NCAA.
Set players were not good enough to make NFL rosters whether that be a 53 man or a practice squad.
The NCAA thinks that well these guys went "pro" so the rule is the rule. It doesn't matter if we made a mistake or not.
Because Pavia, Chambliss, Cole Hutson, and others challenged the NCAA and were granted injunctions by judges. THESE SET PLAYERS HAVE A CREDIBLE CASE AND SO THEY TOOK IT TOO COURT.
The players and attorneys see the fact that these kids could have earned money using their NIL this season in college. Keep in mind they are not employed by the NFL. They are unemployed....
They were excluded from the 5 for 5 rule and are currently not employed by the NFL.
The kids make the case. If I had the option to stay in school, then I would.
It makes sense they were not good enough to make NFL rosters!!!!!! THE NFL DIDN'T NEED THEM.
The last thing I will say is this. STOP ACTING LIKE THESE GUYS PLAYED IN AN NFL GAME, PRESEASON OR NOT.
Z Harris, never even practice with the SAINTS!
Two examples of a player. Which one is greater advantage to a team?
Player A 24 years old, 6th year of college, making 4-6 million dollars
Player B 22 years old, seeking a 5th year of college, currently unemployed.....

The SEC as a whole is loving this entire thing.... because no one is talking about the Big 10... no one is talking about the ACC.... no one is talking about the Big 12.
Saturday Night in Death Valley will be huge and the SEC is so glad this is all going down.
At the end of the day the SEC only cares about one thing: MONEY, and Lane and LSU are making it for the entire conference

I, for one, love it.
It’s an indicator of the rest of the big six, hating the idea of firing Brian Kelly and hiring Lane away from a lesser school. Everyone agrees with all that.
Allowing other SEC schools like Texas and Kentucky to play former NFL employees, but blaming lane is like democrats saying
“Russia Russia Russia” about Donald Trump.
It’s just hatred for the combo of Lane + LSU that is driving this. If he went to Alabama, the GEORGA ATTORNEY GENERAL would not be bleeding about this.
It’s the inconvenience of having to put another place setting at the table that Brian took away.
THIS RIGHT HERE IS ALL YOU NEED TO SEE. And then watch them say they don’t care about LSU in a few months. It’s a derangement syndrome that many liberal women have.

You may be correct but the stigma and reputation of lsu is looking bad at moment. People don’t care about common sense truth

But it wouldn’t matter.
If Jayden Daniels had done the same thing to ND, USC, OSU or Michigan, the national media would have started in on Jayden right away.
But the media left the hook in the water for a couple more days to see if the internet would bite on mean lane Kiffin.
I heard an Internet personality this morning g named Stugotz basically just hating Lane like Libs hate Trump.
It was:
“ if lane told me it was sunny. I would bring an umbrella.”
^thats just hate.
And I am here for it. I actually see through the well-placed commentaries and love the coordination on Lane + LSU. Lane loves it too.

Oh no doubt lane loves it, but it could be rough if lsu doesn’t win big immediately.

Why do people think this rises to the level of "hate"?
I *HATE* pedophiles
I *HATE* rapists
I *HATE* murderers
I *HATE* decaf coffee
LSU and Kiffin? Mild annoyance at best, and most often apathy.

Common sense dictates the following
College sports in the SEC lost its claim of amateurism with NIL and revenue sharing
Athletes are only given 5 consecutive years beginning when they enroll so no athlete from before 2022 can return and next year 2022 can not return
This is a 1 year issue that could have been prevented had NCAA passed the rule in January.
There is no compelling advantage for the player or team by having these players return due to the players experience in the NFL camp.
This will be the downfall of the NCAA as they are not trying to make this a class action suit. They made too many exceptions to stand up to scrutiny.
The SEC and every other conference has deferred eligibility, rules to the NCAA so that it’s standardized across all member conferences.
To try and argue a new rule to circumvent a governing body injunction will be a steep hill to climb.

You are making the case for eligibility. The SEC(including LSU) has said that regardless of whether they are made eligible or not, that they cannot play in the SEC. Totally different issues

I don’t understand why you think this should allow 2022 guys to come back.
Serious question, why can’t 2021 guys come back?

What if someone in 2016 went pro after 4 years? They might not have made that decision if 5 for 5 was a rule. Why can’t they come back?

They were excluded from the 5 for 5 rule and are currently not employed by the NFL.

in 2016 you had 5 years to play 4. Their five year window has passed

Why can’t 2021 kids return who didn’t play their 5 years?
Would they not be owed that year just as much as 2022 guys?

Well for one, NFL and NBA players are not allowed to play in the conference. This has nothing to do with a players eligibility to play CFB.

Eligibility begins when they enroll in class and it flows straight without being broken up.
2016 would expire in 2021(2022 due to Covid exception).
Players have appealed for years they have sat out due to family emergencies. I don’t remember how NCAA ruled.
Common exceptions are
Redshirt, medical redshirt.
I think the 5 for 5 removed all this.
The NCAA caused this mess by not sticking to their own rules and being inconsistent.
I don’t care if either players step foot on campus but there are others around the country (see Texas) that did the same.
LSU is being targeted because Lane left Ole Miss during the playoffs for LSU. That’s bad for the game, hurt the SEC and is similar to players opting out bowl games.

2022 guys still are in a 5 year window
The only class still in that window that was excluded
That is the heart of the argument made by the athletes
