Fact is that most SEC teams are beat up this time of year.
If Brando and Co. Want power 5 schools to never book another cupcake then they should petition the NCAA to give each school an additional 10-15 scholarships to make up for additional injuries that will be incurred.
For some reason I don't see that happening. So status quo will continue.
This is just Brando's "look at me" hot take he trots out every year.

Brando is Tiny Tot Bowden's homo side-piece.

Eh. He aspires to be Marlon but ends up being Fredo. Same old, same old.

I guess I’m alone in thinking these games are good for football overall.
1. These games provide the funds for FCS programs allowing more players to get game experience. Some of these guys make NFL rosters, some become coaches, etc.
These players get to play in a big time stadium. What an experience!
2. These games offer the walkon players at big schools a chance to actually lineup on the field and play in front of friends and family. Walkons make a valuable contribution to the success of even an Alabama level program. With only 85 scholarships, walkons are needed for scout team and player development. I think most programs have around 20 walkons. Some of them contribute with development. I think Bama had a corner who started last year who was a walkon early in his career. Kevin Green walked on at AU and made nfl hall of fame!

Teams should only play 11 regular season games and have an extra bye week.

I’d get this more if bowl games took place right after the regular season with the other conferences complaining. But they don’t. They happen 4 to 5 weeks after the last game giving every conference time to heal. Making it obsolete whether they play these games in September or November. Stupid rehashed talking point every year.

I've never thought he was worth listening to.

I like Brando in the same way I like Lou Holtz. I know I can get food information from Holtz as long as I don't listen to him about Notre dame. In Brando's case it is LSU. SEC is hit or miss on his info too. He is like the Alex Jones of college football, his info might be correct, but always verify before repeating. I do agree with him this time, however.

I think this is the answer to your question. Only games he gets to do are in the BDF.
He is trying to make them appear relevant.
He loves him some Iowa State, TCU, Baylor, etc

Who respects Brandeaux?

No.
Everyone usually plays one decent to good OOC game. Having cupcakes on the schedule is fine...it gives smaller schools a chance to raise money and get some exposure, and it gives SEC schools a needed break from league play.
I dont want to hear anything about cupcake schedules when Florida, Kentucky, Auburn, LSU, A&M, Alabama, and Ole Miss are on the schedule.
Alabama and State's OOC sucked this year, but it wasn't their fault that Louisville and Kansas State tanked.
If SEC teams played B1G schedules, they would need stronger OOC games on their resume.

They should give everyone but Bama 10-15 more scholarships, or they should introduce a hard salary cap. Maybe that would get you guys under control and level the playing field.

Props to the big ten for that 9 game schedule with all those powerhouse teams like Maryland, Rutgers, Indiana, northwestern, Minnesota, and Nebraska.

Why are you fussing Bama as well as the other sec teams have gone to home and home in the next few years. The problem is putting fcs schools on the schedule. Considering we are going to two bye weeks next year it is the perfect time to eliminate fcs from The schedule the problem now will be which p5 schools will be available this late in the schedule. The easy answer is to go to a 9 game conf schedule and fill this week with another sec game

I never had any respect for him to begin with.

Ten conference games, one power-5 OOC opponent, and one cupcake....that'd fix everything.
