I like it, but it would mean a lot of two loss champions and not making the playoffs some years(unless other conferences do it too), and only a powerhouse defense with a great qb would have a chance of navigating this schedule undefeated, might happen twice a decade if that much. But it would mean better football over the course of the year and seems like a small price to pay..

anyone from FOX has to be treated with a grain of salt.
They have contracts with the Big 12, Pac 12 and Big 10.
These conferences have either been left out or blown out in the last few playoffs.
The SEC can conceivably get 2 teams into the playoff, this potentially hurts the amount of money FOX can make from CFB.

And you think it is as easy as just picking up the phone and telling Washington State or Boston College we are adding them to the schedule for whatever season? They have to want to play the game and most teams don't want to play Bama right now on top of their PAC 10 or ACC schedule. It is an almost assured lopsided loss that does nothing to help them. I have heard numerous people say Bama had a terrible time getting a name program to play them next season and that is why they are stuck playing Duke. I doubt Duke was who the Bama AD wanted when starting to schedule that game.

Why would my respect for Tim Brando, a sports journalist, hinge on an opinion he gives? That is what he is paid to do, and he is absolutely right. Scheduling one lower level cupcake is fine. Scheduling three is bullshite, and all the SEC teams are guilty of it.
