I agree. But the point is the reason. If Schloss’s best friend isn’t the AD, then tu could have come calling and they would have been turned down. Schloss didn’t leave because tu won a bunch of titles a long time ago.

So butt hurt is if your old lady denies sleeping with your neighbor, only to leave you and the kids for him the next day? I understand now.

All you need to understand is that Schlossnagle tanked the draggies in the CWS title game.

That was your one and only true chance to win a natty in a respectable sport.

Schloss brought his baseball genius and tier 1 pitching coach to Texas.

Aggie small minded mentality right there. This isnt winning a natty in the 1930s historical.

UT gets to Omaha almost 1/2 the times there have even been a postseason. Is ATM better than UT this year? Yes that is likely but coaches don't make moves based on the next year or two, they make them based on the next 5-10 years IF they can get to the perfect alignment to achieve their goals.

Sorry to say but Texas will be AND HAS PROVEN IT to be the better long term fit if he wants to win a Natty or go to Omaha consistently.

Prove me wrong Aggie otherwise anything that comes out of your mouth or on computer you keyboard warriors is simply hurt feelings that he chose Texas over you, same as Elko chose ATM over Duke.

As a fan of a school who had a coach leave us for a rival, I think you should get over it, like me. I am happy for Mike White, and appreciate his efforts while at UF.
You are welcome

You don't really believe White left of his own volition, do you?

A&M has pretty much owned tu ever since we moved to the SEC. Not just Schloss, Childress had some success against tu after 2012. He also won the Big 12 Championship in our last year in the Big12.

Some of you sips have really short memories

Even if you have "owned" UT what have you done on a national stage? What does owning UT matter when every coach cares about national accolades and in college baseball its Nattys, trips to Omaha, etc.

ATM has 4 CWS appearances this century.

Texas has 11 with 2 Nattys.

We are not the same program at all.

Nobody is arguing that Texas is the historically better program.

I am arguing that pissing away a national championship appearance and giving up a preseason #1 team is a dumb decision based on the fact he’s never won a natty. If he stayed at A&M, this season would be his best chance to win a natty in his career thus far. That’s not even arguable.

Schloss thought he could gut the A&M roster on the way out the door and not one player followed him. That part of his plan backfired.

We just disagree on short vs long term value.

Where did Schloss say he was going to “gut” atms roster? Link or you’re just making things up which is my assumption

So see.... if we're going to be reasonable.. I absolutely agree with this statement.

Given we can agree on that - you can still call it "shitty" I guess, but Schloss wanted to go back with CDC. CDC wanted Schloss back as well. Happens in the professional world all the time.

To make more of it than that is just partisan chest-beating.

And Buster is an ex-sawmill foreman poor who somehow got lost on his way to LSU and went to A&M.

So you are bragging about something that happened 20 years ago as if it has something to do with right now? I realize your IQ probably does not get out of the double digits but surely you realize that argument just makes you look ignorant.

You think you know what coaches think? Do you read minds?

Do you really think that what happened over 20 years ago has any bearing on what a coach thinks of the here and now? Following your logic, every football coach would be beating down the doors to be the next football head coach ay Yale, Alabama and Princeton. They have more football championships than any other schools.

Good riddance. Truly.

I hope we only have to see his puffy, greasy, bloated, needs-a-shave face only when we play them.

Excited to see what this new era of Coach Earley baseball and team of horses can do.

TW I come in peace. I will agree that likely the Longhorn baseball job could be perceived as a longer-term value than the A&M job.

However, in this case - if the A&M head coach was just some random fella who had no connections to CDC, he would have turned it down in my estimation. After just taking A&M to the final dance, and given the karma (and backfire) that such a move could possibly cause, I don't see that most would accept it. There's no need to.

Now I know there is some rumble that Schloss didn't like this or that... but nah I don't buy it. Unless someone is just feverishly unhappy, which I don't see was the case, this move doesn't happen.

Schloss and CDC were buddies. Nothing more, nothing less.
