He’ll probably try but Coach Boom is much better as a DC.

I wonder how long he and Sark can last without one of them having a coronary.

Who knows but he doesn't need the money if he's even had an average financial advisor/manager with the millions he has made over the years.

I don't want to lose him as the Texas DC. His attacking type of defense is exactly what the Horns have needed.

He needs to go Buddy Ryan and punch Sark on the sideline for having such a shitty offense.

He's a damn good coordinator:

2003 - LSU - Defensive Coordinator
Won BCS National Championship (vs. Oklahoma)

2009 - Texas - Defensive Coordinator
Lost BCS National Championship (vs. Alabama)

2021 - Georgia - Special Teams Coord. / Analyst
Won CFP National Championship (vs. Alabama)

2022 - Georgia - Co-Defensive Coordinator
Won CFP National Championship (vs. TCU)

I wonder if Kirby calls him when Schuman gets the promotion call.

Who do you think Coach Boom likes more?
Kirby or Sark?

Losing Schuman will be a big deal.

We have replaced OCs and DCs several times over.
But this one would be different.

Schu has been the heart of the linebackers unit for 11 seasons now. And the linebackers are the heart of the defense.

WM probably could get another shot at a program without high expectations if he wants, provided he's learned to stay away from the offensive side of the ball.

He probably will but he shouldn’t. He's not a program manager as he’s proven more times than not. He's a legit DC though.

Kirby, who wouldn’t?

Sark seems like an intolerable a-hole.

Depends on the nature of the work. No real inside information here, but Sark says Muschamp was hired to be the head coach of the defense. I take that to mean he has a great deal of control of player management and near complete autonomy over game-planning and in-game decisions. Does he have that with Kirby Smart? Is it a factor one way or another?

he's had that shot

Muschamp was promoted to co-defensive coordinator of the Bulldogs, alongside Glenn Schumann. On January 10, 2022, the Bulldogs won the National Championship against the Alabama Crimson Tide. He won his second title with the Georgia coaching staff, and third overall, when they defeated TCU in the National Championship in 2023.

On January 13, 2024, Georgia announced that Muschamp would transition to an off-field analyst role to spend more time with his family.

basically took a year off from coaching and took the texas DC job.

If he is going to be a DC, where do you think he would choose to go?

Do you think Texas would offer him the illustrious head coach in waiting title to avoid grabby hands at their DC?

that says a lot, there's is no way he gets that with kirby smart on defense, that explains why he stepped basically away from football in 2024.
