Im sorry but this has always been the dumbest thing ive ever heard. I dont care if my house was by itself on top of a mountain, im locking my damn doors when I go to bed. I live in Fort Collins Colorado and I swear this is the best city in Colorado. So much recreation, parks, mountain access, live music, nice downtown, more conservative

Windows and shades open after 6 pm. Windows and shades closed after 10 am. Fans upstairs in key areas in living room and office. Basement stays cool and I sleep down there. On extra hot days ill run my sprinkler and go outside and get wet, then come back inside and sit in front of my fan. Sad, but efficient.

I lease rental properties out here. Its amazing how many northern colorado rentals dont have AC. Even at 106 today it will get in high 60s tonight
