I think Roy was on the list and Maason Smith was left off.

DL has some studs. Should be very good. Not sure they are the best in the nation, though.

WR is very good as well. Boutte is at least Top 3 WR. If Nabers hype is true, then we have two of the best receivers in CFB. Bech and Jenkins are also proven receivers. B. Thomas Jr. is a stud as well.

Easily the strongest groups on the team.

First-team defense
DL: Jalen Carter, Georgia
DL: BJ Ojulari, LSU
DL:Derick Hall, Auburn
DL: Byron Young, Tennessee
LB: Will Anderson Jr., Alabama
LB: Nolan Smith, Georgia
LB:Henry To'oTo'o, Alabama
DB: Jordan Battle, Alabama
DB:Kelee Ringo, Georgia
DB:Eli Ricks, Alabama
DB:Jalen Catalon, Arkansas

This is what I find as it relates to preseason AA’s. Not saying your guys aren’t players but number of years as a starter doesn’t always mean more production.

Both groups should be good, not sure you can say they're the best in the nation yet though as most of the contributors are unproven.

I remember when DeMarvin Leal was the #3 overall player and Aggy fans swore he’d be a Top 10 pick.

3 rounds later….

Pathetic, broken-faced bitch.

Nevermind, I was thinking of the coaches’ Preseason All-SEC teams. Apparently the coaches view Roy more favorable than Smith.

Coaches’ preseason all-sec

Wide receiver group is top three. The only teams I can think of that have a better group is Ohio State and OU

I would like to hear why you think so highly of your D line?

I’ve seen Ojulari mocked in the late 1st round, Ali Gaye as a Day 2 pick. Maason Smith is a specimen and will likely be the best of the bunch. Jaquelin Roy is a good run stuffer. They have some nice depth with the All-SEC freshman team transfer from Missouri and a couple younger guys.

I'm not saying they're the absolute best in the whole country , but to LOLOL about it like Brandon Walker did is a bit much.

I think Ali Gaye plays himself into a top 20 draft pick this year. At times last year he was unstoppable he did not pace himself and was gassed at end of games consistently. I think this year he will pick his shots better and I wouldn’t say sandbag but just make sure he keeps some in the tank

PFF rankings

He’s an idiot. PFF has LSU with the fourth-best defensive line, which seems about right.

I’d say DL is probably 3rd behind Alabama and UGA in the SEC.

WR is arguably as good as anyone not named Ohio State. Whether we have a qb that can consistently get them the ball is questionable

I don’t know about the op’s reference, but I just read other experts on Tr who have opined that every front seven player of LSU, not just starters but two-deep, will be drafted AND will make a NFL regular season roster. I admit that is pretty strong.

LINK /

Also another expert listed 12-13 LSU players this year who will be drafted in the first three rounds… and then asks who he has overlooked. Judging from the replies, he missed a few… which again is remarkable.

LINK /

LSU defense will be outstanding … or so it seems at this point in the season…
