Fields never used that. Some drunk baseball player, who was actually a friend of his, yelled “that’s my ****” at a football game. A white girl overheard it and reported him and he was “woked”. He didn’t mean any harm and it’s something that blacks say to blacks repeatedly. But it is what it is. You fail when you try to make it a thing. Just ask Arik.

It shouldn't have been a thing. I agree. However, Fields made it a thing so he could leave. And, he screwed Georgia in the process having to use a walk on qb.

I think this was a blameless situation. I don't blame Kirby for starting Fromm. He took UGA to a NC the year before and Fields didn't win the job over him in practice. Word was that Fields couldn't grasp the entire playbook like Fromm did. So I don't blame Fields for transferring. He later wrote a sort of open letter of apology to UGA. I think he took the advice of a lawyer when he needed immediate eligibility. Stetson was a loyal UGA fan/player who gave the program every ounce of talent he had. If anyone was to blame it would have been Newman. But I don't know the reasoning behind his decision.
(Coincidentally, did you know that Newman from Seinfeld is a UGA grad?)

That’s exactly what happened. Fields knew by claiming a hostile racist environment thr NCAA wasn’t going to dare deny him the transfer. I mean it all worked out for him.

I mean the same can be said for Saban with the Hurts/Tua situation. If Tua doesn't play in the second half vs UGA he 100% was transferring .

No.
He already left.
He made it a thing so he could play right away without having to sit out a year.
And it's not like it was some random fan who yelled it out. It was a member of the Baseball team who was in the Athletic Department system with him.
That's why he got eligibility. Rndom fan, nothing happens. Fellow UGA athlete: give him immediate playing time.
It wasn't blown out of proportion by anyone but the media and this board.
