Yes. The national title trophy is in the Mal Moore Football Building. You can stop by and see it this weekend if you want.

I forget which year it was, but some fricking weatherman had them #1 in his bs poll and they claim that one. They went 8-3 that year

At least LSU is willing to play a true non conference road game and that game was when Texas' defense was at full strength
Both teams lost multiple starters in that game for several games as it was tough and physical on a 100 degree surface at night

Tell you what sport. Tell me a school that was awarded an AP or UPI title that doesnt claim it and Ill agree that Bama shouldnt claim 1978. Ill wait

damn, just looked at Arkansas's schedule results that year. Allowed only 7 points total in the last 6 games with 5 shutouts in a row before the bowl game. Impressive.

Right, it was 41. The Houlgate System, formulated by some statistition named Deke Houlgate, is what had them at #1. They went 8-3. Were shut out by both Mississippi State and Vandy. Finished 3rd in the SEC. And we're ranked #20 in the AP.
