Possibly if UGA beats them by two or more scores.

The coaches, players, administrators are all paid whores.

BAMA is in the 4-8 tier with a win, 10 or 11 with a loss. Anything else and you will have seen your last SECCG.

By virtue of the SEC rules Alabama is #1 in the conference going into their championship game. If you think the SEC will allow that team to get left out over a loss in that game for 2 G5 teams or Big 12 to get in the playoff I have some ocean front property in Arizona for you.
The league office will just burn the whole thing down and move on to-do their own thing. The CFP needs the SEC a lot more than the SEC needs them.

You going to kick them out for playing an extra game against a team they beat once already? Taking off the Bama hate glasses for a sec, I don't see it. Then again the whole Notre Dame over Miami deal shows me anything is possible but I still don't see it. They'll open on the road with a loss

If BYU wins Bama is out right?

Unless byu wins and you lose
There won’t be a place for you

^this
Exception: if Bama got beat 52-3 and lost starting QB or 3 defensive starters, a coordinator- maybe they don’t make CFP, but other than losing a coordinator the rest is highly improbable

Bama is out if they lose.

Why should those presidents vote to kill their big money maker?
I'm surprised you think it's some huge money maker, instead of just being "another" money maker...I'd think that the SEC winning like 80% of the natties and producing the majority of NFL stars since 2000 has made a lot more money than some CCG games.

I think they’ve earned their way win or lose. But if they lose and miss out, it would be great!

ALL future SECC games needs to be cancelled asap.
We're already at that point, all conference championship games need to go.
In the big ten, Ohio State and Indiana are both already locks for the top 4 and first round byes, so what's the point of them playing a non-elimination game this weekend?
In the sec, you have Bama who could be knocked out of the playoff field entirely for making it to the conference championship game. Nothing else needs to be said for that situation.
In the acc, you have Duke who could win the conference championship game and keep the acc out of the playoffs completely, while the acc's best team, Miami, isnt even playing for the conference championship. Virginia could be looking at the most favorable officiating this weekend any of us have ever seen.
And then in the big 12, byu gets a mulligan against a team that just smoked them less than a month ago and will get back into the playoffs with a win, do any of the other bubble teams get a mulligan against a team that already beat them?
This whole thing is a mess.

Where was the outrage in 2017?
Auburn was in the playoffs. They lost in the SEC Champ game and got replaced by a team sitting at home. A team sitting at home they beat 8 days prior

On that, we agree. Conference winning G5 teams would finish way down the line if they were in a P4. Yet, a better P4 team sits home, while a G5 team goes to the playoffs just to get murdered in the first round. Let's say Texas or Alabama doesn't get in. Is there a reasonable person who actually thinks a team like Tulane would have a snowball's chance in Hell against either?
Honestly, the talent disparity between P4 and G5 (with only some exceptional cases) is so great that it would almost make more sense for them to just have their own playoff (like FCS) and have a G5 champ - especially with the national championship taking so much away from conference championships and the like.

lol it's funny.. the SEC regular season champ (yes, I know not a thing but the #1 seed and home team in the SECCG game signifies #1 in regular season) is a bubble team, while 4 teams that finished below are considered locks...

Not going to happen. Although, they should push to eliminate the AQ bids and just have the field slated as the rankings reflect.
Per grok:
SECCG as a whole: Produces ~$100-120 million annually for the SEC (pre-2024 TV deal estimates), including ~$40 million in TV rights alone. This was boosted in the new ESPN deal starting 2024-25, where the SECCG is part of an additional $300 million annual payment for "biggest games" (replacing the prior $55 million CBS deal).
CFP spot: For 2024-25, the SEC earned ~$16 million total from its 3 playoff teams' participation (up to quarterfinals). Per-team conference bonuses range from $3-4 million per round advanced, but total conference revenue depends on outcomes. Starting 2026, the SEC's base CFP share rises to ~$21 million per school (~$336 million total for 16 schools), plus performance bonuses.

There is just no way OU is out. The resume is just too good
Well, the committee made the mistake of saying they’re not 100% into the whole SoS resumes. They are doing “eye tests” too. With that being said, they could very well kick us out due to poor offensive performance despite our defense carrying us the whole season.

Two solutions:
1) Do like basketball and have a Regular Season Champion and a Championship Game Champion. If you feel it might hurt you, sit that game out and let the next team up play.
2) The Playoff Committee should choose the playoff field at the end of the regular season. Then have your league Championship games.
#2 is the most logical and best solution.

They are a very average team in any case. There should be no way they are in should they lose and really aren't good enough even if they win.
