Does UGA need to pick up the flag this year?

I think it's going to be very tough. Although, on the bright side, lots of underclassmen are getting plenty of experience for next year's defense

Bama is suddenly vulnerable to the run, so it is a real possibility.

It's entirely possible. One of my biggest concerns.

Nah. Bama is one of those reloading schools. Next man up.

We are vulnerable because we allowed a team run under 4 yards per carry? Take away their one lone long run, and its less than 3 yards per carry.

We are down to 3rd string at two linebacker postions....

ITT bama fans invent a storyline to try and make the season more interesting for them

True, but they normally reload over the offseason. Currently, they're running out of men to be next man up for a linebacker position.

The play with the long run counted and so did the td that resulted from it. So I do count it.

I think MSU, AU, and UGA will be able to run the ball a bit. Alabama gave up 151 on the ground to LSU. Alabama came into the game only giving up 68 yards/game. They've now lost #1 and #2 on the depth chart at Sam LB and Mike LB. I think they have a guy to play each position well, but the depth behind the 3rd string guys who are now starting is virtually non-existent.

With the LB depth an issue, one strategy would be to play even more nickel than normal. Of course Minkah Fitzpatrick also might be banged up which would be the biggest issue of all.

I think more nickel could be effective against MSU and Auburn. But against UGA's run game where Alabama would want to be in base the majority of time is where the depleted LB group would be a huge concern.

okay. under 4 yards per carry. In no universe that exists does that equate to being "vulnerable."

You're right. You don't take rushing plays out when you count rushing stats.

No, I think eventually losing four LBs (including two starters) is going to catch up to Alabama. Not to mention that Fitzpatrick will be nursing a hamstring for a while. It may be to the point that Alabama can't even run its base defense.

Exactly.

No team is immune to tough times on defense if they have trouble stopping the run. Alabama has some teams coming up that can take advantage of that.

The offense might have to go into light up the scoreboard mode like they've had to do against Clemson.

Will be interesting to see how Alabama responds moving forward.

It was shortly after Wilson and Hamilton went out. But those guys that were out there are what Alabama has to count on at LB now. But they have time to get the reps they need to fix things.

The DL will have to step up too. Hopefully Hand is healthy soon.
