People have to feel like they are heroic and part of the “movement.” I mean a lot of our heroes growing up were civil rights figures. So they invent crap to make themselves feel involved and part of it. Sad but true.

Another “I’m not a racist” game. I have black friends too. 
It’s 2023. Do we really have to ask this question, and so what if they do or don’t care. Why do I care what they think? You know man, maybe people just need to stop worrying about what everyone else thinks, and just focus on ourselves instead.

I hear you because the media does reach on everything for a headline, but I also remember a time not that long ago when it was believed that blacks weren’t smart enough to play quarterback, to the point where Warren Moon of all people had to spent 5 years blowing up the CFL to get a chance to play QB in the NFL.
That didn’t happen in the 1950’s, that happened in the 1980’s.

I’m old enough to know that there was for a long time an assumption that blacks weren’t capable of playing QB. I’m no fan of making everything about race, class, and gender, but in this case, it is noteworthy imho. I’d also add that nothing has done more to bridge racial divides than sports, and I like that a lot. Hurts me to see both sides bringing their culture wars to the one place that transcends all that bullshite.

Truthfully, it’s helps a lot that the QB position nowadays favors athleticism way more than it did when Doug Williams played. Everyone is in the gun with a lot of reads and shite that can utilize the raw athleticism of the black athlete way better than when the QB was exclusively under center in the pro style offenses of the ‘80s and ‘90s.

Would it be noteworthy if, I don't know, 2 of the 4 starting guards in the NBA final were white??? What if there were 2 starting guards in the NBA all star game who were white? You got Doncic, who else you got??? It would be noteworthy. Some folks would care. Some folks would be put out by it. Some folks couldnt care less.
