It more just seems like GT fans don't even care. Doesn't seem like there's a lot of hatred in that rivalry.

There is hatred but it is mostly directed at us. Only UGA fans I know that have a real hatred for Tech are fans over 45. Everyone under 45 is used to beating them regularly.

I’d be cool with playing Clemson every year during rivalry week instead. They would have to move their game with cocky up in the season though.
No shot that would ever happen. Clemson SC will always be at the end of the year.

Oh sure... a team that's ranked multiple weeks is definitely worse than a bottom dwelling ACC team.
Every team on our schedule is or has been ranked this season, except Petrino State.
Not in favor of 9 conf games. Am in favor of playing actual OOC games.

I hope yall beat the brakes off GT. There is a rumor that Bill Obrien might be heading there and I want that to happen.

Want to get Arkansas as the last game of the season again
The entire country wants The Battle for the Golden Boot to be played Thanksgiving weekend. It is complete and utter horseshite that they ever moved that game.

Ga. Tech used to be a very formidable SEC foe once. After Coach Bryant neutered them and coach Bobby Dodd, they slithered out of the SEC and into oblivion....damn shame.

Tech needs to drop football altogether or drop down to FCS level because their administration could not give any less of a shite about the sport.
Solely a guess here, but within 10 years, I don't think this will be an annual game anymore.

Now Texas & Oklahoma are going to change that because they don’t have an end of year date either. You’d think they’d put Texas & A&M back together. Maybe you get Arkansas back and Missouri becomes Oklahoma’s dance partner.
In terms of rivalries this would make the most sense. All of those combos have good long term rivalries going.

This game used to be huge, but GT just doesn't uphold its end anymore.
In the last few years, there have been rumblings from some for ending the annual game.

GT is struggling. No question.
However,
They are 21st in all time wins (half the sec) , 34th in winning % (half the sec), and have a winning record against Florida, MSU, Vandy, So Carolina, and LSU. Splits at 1-1 with Arky, A&M, Mizz. Claim 4 nattys behind Bama and Knoxville, tied with LSU, and 15 Conf titles more than 8 sec schools. Still more SEC titles than half the Conf (5).
Techs issue is administration and spending.

Georgia Tech needs to come into the SEC to give Georgia some in-state competition. Tech will improve and recruit better as an SEC team.
Ridiculous.

This problem will only get worse as their older alumni die off. Their younger alumni probably aren't even aware of the football team's existence. This is the downside of chasing out of state and foreign students; they grow up with no loyalty to the school and have no loyalty to the school after they leave.

Nationally relevant and a national power are two different things.
If a team has never been #1 in the country per the AP poll (not even for a week), then that team can't be considered a national power. It is just a shouting match of "my dad can beat up your dad" that never actually gets settled.
Dude. Tech was legit for a long time. To say otherwise demonstrates a complete lack of perspective of college football.

Tech actually has a ranked win.
Liberty doesn't.
Tech beat their common opponent (Tech won @ virginia tech). Liberty didn't.

Then quit bitching about UGA playing 2 P5 opponents and start bitching to your own AD to schedule better.

Reread my post. I said they were nationally relevant.

I am just glad they have gone away from the chop block offense. While fun to watch against other teams, it was always hold your breath that none of our guys would get hurt while playing them. Also, the time it would take our D to have to work to defend such a weird offense.
