Do you reckon Lincoln Riley's new $17.2 million home is big enough for him?

Along with his wife and two daughters, seems the home USC bought for Riley is just a tad big for four people, don't'cha think?

Not even the great John McKay and John Robinson had homes like this. No wonder he left Oklahoma for USC. As an alumnus, even I am a bit shocked. I suppose the coach has to maintain a step ahead of the players he's coaching, eh? ;) Geez.

Located on the Pacific Ocean in Palos Verdes Estates about 25 driving miles SW of the University of Southern California campus, it has:

-- unparalleled views of the Pacific Ocean
-- 13,000 sq.ft. on 3 acres
-- 5-car garage
-- elevator
-- 7 fireplaces
-- movie theatre (of course!)
-- tennis court
-- sauna
-- steam room
-- swimming pool
-- 600-bottle wine room
-- guesthouse

If it's going to be all about money (and it is!), then empty the bank accounts and go for the gusto. It better pay dividends fast or else....

I’ve seen bigger pools under a flooded overpass.

Too small. I wouldn’t live in it.

Outside of the view, the house is not that impressive to me (not for $17 million). Maybe he will let you pick up his dogs shite if you're lucky.

If he is going to entertain recruits there and thinks he is getting a good deal, why not? If you end up making a few extra million dollars a few years down the line off its resale, it would be dumb not to. Real estate is not a sunk cost in the vast majority of cases.

I've seen hundreds of homes that are more beautiful than Riley's. Then again, those homes cost quite a bit -- a lot more -- than Riley's, too.

Beverly Hills, Bel-Air, Brentwood, Malibu (to mention a few) are all much more exclusive than Palos Verdes Estates. But, again, this...is...California, unfortunately. You'll pay a million for a backyard shack to hold your tools and yard equipment here.

Will they repo it when they realize he doesn't believe in defense?

The 17 million dollars is irrelevant for him if usc is paying for it. He probably owes more in taxes and insurance than most of us pay for our mortgage.

Yeah who wants a Mediterranean styled mansion when you’ve got Bastrop, Texas.

I'd need something on the water with a boat dock...if I happen to be dropping $17 million. Of course, I'd also rather have a house on 100 acres in the middle of nowhere instead of LA too.

How do you get from Palos Verdes to USC in LA traffic? That looks like a long commute.

Pretty easy....from his home, take Palos Verdes Drive to the 110 Freeway North and onto USC's campus and back.

Yep, Bastrop is as good as it gets in Texas...

Enjoy your 3 acres and having Whoopi Goldberg as your next door neighbor. I'll take this 10,000 acre ranch with 3 homes and 200 class deer.

His favorite perk of the job is not having to play a SEC schedule.

Don’t forget that it needs to be big enough to fit his ego as well.
