Rugers baby. We're the next big thing. Gonna win the big east this year and then march on to the national championship game and unseat the SEC. Only fitting the streak ends to the most consistently underrated conference out there.

Agreed...most all Bama fans admit 1941 is a joke, but feel we could rightfully claim several other years so it evens out. I also wish we would drop that year, because without that year our rivals have no legitimate argument against any of our other 13 NC claims. 9 poll titles, and 4 Rose Bowl titles. That's stout by any standard--and really is the gold standard for CFB.

No fanbase deserves to vicariously taste the success of their respective teams than any other fanbase, that's just absurd. Hell, all I do is watch the games on tv. What do I deserve at all? It's entertainment.

I feel like we deserved to win the NC after the tornado, the AD death, etc. It was a tough year for Alabama residents, not only those who are Alabama fans.

I do believe, however, that we expect certain things -- namely the success that we've had.
Don't confuse entitlement with expectation. Sidewalk fans are entitled. True fans have expectations -- even high expectations -- and stick by their team even when those expectations aren't met.
Even this past season. I don't think we necessarily "deserved" to win a national championship. I do, however, think that we deserved something to celebrate in T-town, given everything that happened there. If it had been a Sugar Bowl win, I would have been pleased, even if not as happy as I was from winning a title.
If Tuscaloosa deserved anything last year, it was a break. There was too much misery.

We deserve absolutely nothing until the good ol boy shite stops. Big money donors are great. But not when they run the program.

Until Alabama gets 26 like the Princeton Tigers, then they are not the gold standard.. Yale has 18 and Bama and N. Dame have 13...

I think it is IMPORTANT to remember how and when Alabama claims 5 championships in ONE YEAR... Look a the Bama media guide for 1983...It claims 6 national championships... Add 3 since then and that give Alabama 9 which is AMAZING, but not good enough for new Bama fans...

I don't feel like we "deserved" an NC after the tornado. Yes, it was huge for the community and it put Tuscaloosa back into the spotlight but it was something we deserved. The team worked hard for it and the voters felt like Alabama was the No. 2 team in the nation and deserved to play LSU for the BCSNCG. With beating LSU, we deserved the NC.

This morning I was discussing Alabama's recent dominance with a friend who is a Bama fan. At one point he said, and I'm paraphrasing, "we deserve it, though. We went through some dark times."
