All this talk about "RB by Committee" yet that's what we've seen EVERY year, except this past one. Lacy will still get plenty of carries.

I thought at times this past season, when 100% healthy, Lacy had more burst coming off the ball and through the line than Richardson..Penn St. and BCS game are two I recall.. He'll be great if he stays healthy.. We'll see.

Lacy and Fowler are going to pummel teams next year.

I don't see him in NY....but he improved a heck of a lot from '10 to 11...if he continues at that same rate of progress into '12. I can see him making it to end of the season on some watch lists (presuming no health issues) He should have a very good O Line and solid passing game to run behind...then again, he'll be Bama's feature back and he'll be targeted (as I think teams will still try to stop the run first)

Even with health issues he rushed for almost 700 yards and 7 TDs with minimal playing time.

I think the O-line that Bama is going to field next year could put a half a dozen different backs in NY. We're replacing an AA Center with another AA and replacing him with Cyrus Koundjio. Then return everyone else from the best O-line this season.

Not fair.

The difference in Eddie Lacy from the Cap 1 Bowl last year to now is night and day. No fumbles this season. He's easily my favorite player coming back this year. He hits the hold hard and is not fun to tackle.

I'm not knocking Lacy. He is really talented, but how can anyone expect him to get post season awards, when he couldn't stay healthy,in the backup role. Like TRich said," just making it through a season in the SEC, as a rb ,without getting injured is an accomplishment.

I really don't see why it's so out of the question for anybody that has watched him play the last two years. What more can a guy do behind a heisman trophy winner and Trent Richardson too? Check out his numbers, especially his YPC and you might get a look at just how good of a RB Eddie is. He's a baller and he's gonna rip through the SEC next year just like he did this year when he got the carries.

Stay healthy. He couldn't handle a back up roll but yeah increasing his touches means HEISMAN.

This was repeated ad nauseum pre-season in reference to another 'Bama back.

Dude had a turf toe once and some people are acting like he's suffered multiple debilitating injuries due to brittle bone disease or something.

this is an idiotic argument. backup players get injured all the time, as do starters. Just because a guy gets hurt as a backup doesn't mean he is not durable or that he must get injured next year.

So I guess you were probably saying this about TR when he got injured as a backup?

to be fair, turf toe can be pretty bad. the fact that he had corrective surgery on it means 1 of 2 things 1. he had a completely torn ligament in his foot and they surgically repaired it 2. he had a bone chip somewhere in the joint related to the injury that was causing it not to heal. Those are pretty much the only reasons they operate on turf toe. If he had a torn ligament he would not have been playing at all last year, so im thinking he had a bone chip or spur that was nagging him.

Out of all the RB's in the SEC, I think Lacy has the best chance to win the Heisman.

With that O-line 2000+ yards if he has the legs. Heisman for sure.
