Do we need to start assessing forfeits for teams whose fans storm the field or court?

Alabama AD Greg Byrne thinks so.

"I truly believe [in forfeiting wins] — if we said that the home team, if they storm the field or the court, they're going to lose that game right then and there, that will stop it."Alabama AD Greg Byrne told ESPN.

Yup. Let’s put razor wire around the field, ban tailgating, and stop selling beer too.

Yes, if the goal is actually to stop it from happening. If rushing the field meant the win is literally overturned, it would never happen again.

I don't think the conference actually cares though. It just has to look like it doesn't condone it for liability purposes.

That Vanderbilt loss still hurts. I guess this is a sign he sees a few more of those in the future.

So then 10 visiting fans could buy tickets, wear home team outfits, storm court, and their team wins?

Thats pretty fricking retarded.

You have to admit, that would solve that. In a hurry.

Why go to all that trouble? Let's just ban fans from all games.

Absolutely. It has so much to do with what happened while the game clock was running. Another brilliant idea from Greg Byrne.

Since beating Alabama is nothing special anymore…shouldn’t be a worry Byrne.

I say if you are some lard arse couch potato that cannot attend games then you have no say in this topic.

My dad said rushing the field is part of the college experience.

Those that want to take that away are just old arse boomers.

Hell no. It’s college ball. The SEC already does too much to make it boring. frick both him and Sankey for even thinking this is an idea you should utter in public.

Unless someone actually gets significantly hurt, nothing will happen other than fines going up. The conferences condemn it outside of one side of their mouths but love the fact that 16-17 year olds out there see it on tik tok and want to go to a school where you can do that.

Which is what's going to ultimately happen and the university is going to be slapped with a massive lawsuit for not securing the field. But hey, let's wait until that happens before we do anything about it.

Or Sportsbook knows they will take a hit if home team wins and buys up a few hundred tickets and pays people to take those seats and storm the field so road team wins.

This wouldn't solve shite. Call it what it is.: frickING RETARDED

It's not on the sports team to keep fans off the field, that responsibility falls on the athletic department. At this point I don't even know how Byrne got talked into hiring Oats, because he's teeming with retarded ideas.

Bama is the college athletics version of the Democrat party.
