It's a shame that Arkansas is not better in football. I am really hoping a rivalry will eventually blossom between Mizzou and the hogs. It's just been so one-sided for anything to develop yet.
Maybe since you took our coaching trash you might have a chance this year though?

Arkansas doesn't really have a true rival in the SEC. The closest one is Ole Miss. It was heated enough that both programs wouldn't play each for 20 years.
LSU’s only rival is Michigan. It’s so heated both sides have refused to play for 150 years. I get angry just thinking about it.

Don't forget the actions of Chancellor John White help destroying the basketball program. Frank Broyles almost fired Nolan in 90 after the final four but then Chancellor Dan Ferritor said no. Only because he couldn't get a long with Nolan.
Where did you get that? You have your story wrong just like you did about the fight song. No Frank didn't. Who in the right mind would fire a coach after making the Final Four with 3 stud sophomores that would be returning the next year? No matter if Frank liked him or not, he knew not to fire him. We were a #1 seed the very next year in the 1991 NCAAT.
Frank almost fired him after the 1987 season, but didn't. He didn't come close in 1990 to firing him. Good Lord man.

I agree. That stupid TAMU "Rivalry" and the even worse Magnolia Bowl.

The trophy is stupid, but Mississippi is still a rival even though they suck, have to bully the endangered Black Bear faithful whenever you see them; their penis envy and obsession with LSU knows no bounds

For me, yes but for personal reasons rather than cultural. My two best friends are both LSU fans so naturally I hate LSU. Outside of that reason, I don't see LSU as more of a rival than anyone else in the SEC West, although I do think the trophy is awesome and I'm all for trophy games. I also miss the Friday after Thanksgiving game and I couldn't give less of a frick about Mizzou.
This is pretty much how I am with Ole Miss. While LSU/Ole Miss is a "historical rivalry," it hasn't really been a real rivalry since the early 70s. But, growing up in Memphis surrounded by Ole Miss fans and most of my closest friends growing up and several family members being Ole Miss grads, yes I have irrational hate for them. I just excuse it by saying they're the closest thing LSU has outside of Tulane as a historical rivalry. Tulane not mattering anymore makes it an easy choice for me. I view most the resst of the division about equally, with some ebbs and flows with Auburn/Alabama depending on who's been good at the time. Auburn game was a huge deal in the mid to late 90s through the mid 2000s. Alabama has been that team since Saban came back.

Eh, as much shite as we give A&M fans, the "rivalry" isn't completely manufactured given we played them every season from 1942 through 1975 and again from 1986-1995 when they weren't even in the SEC. I think what made it annoying is A&M stopped playing their instate rival and LSU was the closest thing they had to replacing Texas when they joined the SEC

The Nutt teams had four lopsided scores against Auburn.
Anyone 'member when Talley ran for 26,546 yards against Auburn? I 'member.

Sounds like LSU vs A&M

I was asking about the Arkansas/Landmass game, but thank you for the answer.

Arkansas and LSU were getting close to developing something resembling a rivalry. The game was certainly interesting.
Between Arkansas being so bad and losing day after Thanksgiving, it's lost almost all of it's steam.
Petrino kicking LSU's arse in Little Rock to go to the Sugar Bowl was the peak. So if it ended there, I'm ok with that.
