It was the fact that people in this thread were looking down on the A&M fans because they were proud of their rings.
Texans look down on people all the time.

Besides, it's not arrogance to say college rings are stupid. I could think of much better things to spend a couple thousand dollars on.

We don't look down on you. You just envy our pride.

Aggie Network, broski. Benefits far outweigh the cost.

One of my friends does have a conference championship ring - he played baseball in college. I could see wearing something like that as a point of pride, but the thing is way too damn big.

I would say all of us are very proud of our schools.
Most of us don't wear rings to show that appreciation.
Who said you aren't proud too?
The ring has nothing to do with trying to "one-up" anyone else.
We're aware of the fact that most of you don't wear rings.
You also don't have a Yell Leader tradition, dating back to 1907.
We didn't start either tradition to annoy you .
(the Aggie Ring has been worn since 1889--long before we received the SEC invite)
Do whatever you want--your school is yours, and that's y'all's call.
I'm a big fan of college football's variety.

I have an LSU class ring and I used to wear it everyday. I don't find it odd I bought one. I'm proud of it and it shows the sacrifice I gave to get my degree. Anyone who thinks I'm stupid or gay for getting a class ring can kiss my arse.

I'm not a fan of Aggy, but I can understand and respect their traditions, especially the class rings. And what is it about SEC fans and looking down on things that are different? Y'all look down on people who wear jerseys. You look down on people who have class rings. You look down on people from the north, or just non-southerners in general. Basically y'all look down on people who aren't carbon copies of you, and most of y'all from Louisiana to Georgia are a dime a dozen. You sacrifice your own individuality for the sake of fitting in with your frat brothers. Your opinion is just that; an opinion. No one really cares what you think, so get over yourself.
Boom bitches. Navy having to agree with Aggie and Bama fans in this thread. Shaking my head.

False. Until about 10-15 years ago no one in the greatest State in the Union did it other than Aggies. Once the grads from the lesser schools started getting absolutely dominanated by the power of the Aggie Network, their branding experts decided to mimick us. I'm 100% serious.
Every university offers rings.
College rings may be more popular in Texas, due to number of universities in that state, but has nothing to do with copying Aggie rituals. I personally have close relationship with a TCU ('92), Aggie ('89) and Rice ('87) grad....all three still wear their rings with pride.

I wear my ring everyday and I'm damn prod of my school. Sorry that you can't understand that, and you never will. The Aggie Network is world wide and a big family.

I wear mine every day. When my grandmother died, she left me my grandfathers Auburn class ring. It's one of my most cherished possessions and I wear it on special occasions.

And 100% wrong! I still have dents in my head from my father's class of '57 Baylor ring.
