Jesus this thread.

I'm not a fan of Aggy, but I can understand and respect their traditions, especially the class rings. And what is it about SEC fans and looking down on things that are different? Y'all look down on people who wear jerseys. You look down on people who have class rings. You look down on people from the north, or just non-southerners in general. Basically y'all look down on people who aren't carbon copies of you, and most of y'all from Louisiana to Georgia are a dime a dozen. You sacrifice your own individuality for the sake of fitting in with your frat brothers. Your opinion is just that; an opinion. No one really cares what you think, so get over yourself.

Besides Aggy. Just glancing at their board and they are all talking about getting their college class ring and how it was the greatest thing in their lives. Seems sad.

I might get a ring if I had graduated from a place like MIT, but they're stupid. Everyone I know that has a college ring either is from Texas or went to college in Texas.

The only jewelry a man should wear is a wedding ring and a wrist watch.

If you were too poor to buy one, just say so. No shame in that.

Whatever floats your boat

I don't get the point of watches. And I damn sure don't get the point of getting wrapped up in male wrist jewelry, but to each their own.

A Seiko is stupider than a school ring, though. No question.

I'm late to the party but I'd like to add that I love my Citizen watch and wear my UA class ring most of the time because I am a proud alumnus.

False. Until about 10-15 years ago no one in the greatest State in the Union did it other than Aggies. Once the grads from the lesser schools started getting absolutely dominanated by the power of the Aggie Network, their branding experts decided to mimick us. I'm 100% serious.

Honestly, neither do I

I love my Aggie ring, but I'm not a fan of having shite on my fingers/wrists all the time.

The time I spend wearing my rings on a daily basis is pretty limited, anyways. I don't wear them around the house or to bed, and I can't wear them at work. Nor do I wear them while working out.

Watches still have a practical function.

Watches were relevant before cell phones. Now I, and virtually every other person in the US, carry around a watch in my pocket

I don't understand how a thread about rings spurred your diatribe against the entire southeastern United States.

Cell phone works just as well.

No one's going to offer me a job based on whether I have a Rolex or not

I hardly consider my Seiko to be jewelry. It's a fading dive watch, with a cheap NATO strap which is soaked in blood, sweat, and whiskey, and it'll probably outlive me.

On rings though, I just find them horribly uncomfortable. When I get married I think I'll get a tattoo of a ring instead.

Well hell, dubs

I called it that because another poster referred to it as such earlier in this thread, I guess

Yeah, I can't say I blame you

Like I said, I usually only wear mine a couple hours a day, tops.

It was the fact that people in this thread were looking down on the A&M fans because they were proud of their rings. I know tRant likes to joke around with the aggie fans-calling them a cult and whatnot, but I never understood why people here always have to judge other people based on their appearance. It's a free country, they can wear and do whatever they want.

I would say all of us are very proud of our schools. Most of us don't wear rings to show that appreciation. I just don't like gaudy shite like rings but that is just me.
