Hey Alabama. Get over it. This is the way it is going to be. Alabama is the only fan base that wants the same say 8 teams in the finals every year despite records. Every thing to them should be based on tv ratings. Important thing here with this setup is southern teams will have to go up north to play in the cold. Beautiful. Note. I support a team further south than Alabama that will never get in. But, they can play baseball.

Exactly.
Clemson was the only team that made the home team fight in the 2nd half.
I love people trying to claim Indiana had the closest game. They trailed 27-3 late in the 4th and scored a couple garbage time TDs. Woo hoo.
Whereas Clemson had a chance in the 4th quarter. Klubnik finally got cooking but that last TD by Texas was a backbreaker for sure. Klubnik vs. Ewers was actually quite an interesting storyline given Klubnik was an Austin kid who faced Ewers in the Texas HS title game.
So aside from that game, the other games held zero interest for me once it was obvious the rout was on.
Ohio State/Oregon rematch and Georgia/Notre Dame figure to be good games.

The worst 2 rated games were directly competing against very good NFL games.

TNT bought those games from ESPN b/c the were desperate to add more sports after fricking up and losing their NBA deal. Both ESPN and TNT knew CFB games going against the NFL wouldn’t pull normal ratings and its highly unlikely TNT expected ESPN levels when they aren’t a channel that normally airs CFB. Comparing this round to regular season games just doesn’t work.

The average Thursday Night Football game , on Amazon Prime, draws 13.3 million viewers, more than all three playoff games on Saturday combined.

This just proves the NFL is King. Always has been, Always will be.
Regular season NFL games played head to head with CFP:
Steelers-Ravens on Fox: 7.6
Texans-Chiefs on NBC: 7.4
It has been for me the past couple of years. If you are going to watch professional football (which both the NFL and college football are now), why not watch the highest level of the pros instead of watching the minor leagues?

College football did this to themselves. NIL, transfer portal is quickly destroying sport we love

I think they should have had all 4 on ABC or ESPN continuous on Saturday.
11:00 kick ABC
2:30 kick ABC
6:00 kick ESPN
7:00 ABC
It’s what worked with theABC triple header during the season.
It creates the feeling of being completely entrenched in all the games.

Lot of combined reasons for this
Bad games
Competing vs NFL
I also just think the weekend before Christmas is bad timing. People got shite going on to get their holidays kicked off.

ESPN is fricked regardless. No original content. More layoffs and sell offs are on their horizon and disneys.. They are a rent a channel programming

I think we've found the problem...
People don't pick which game to watch based on what channel they're on.

And that would help a Mizzou or Kentucky if they ever find themselves in the playoffs.

You know...somehow CBS, TNT, TBS, TruTv created that completely immersed feeling during the first weekend of the NCAA basketball tournament.
That's what is needed to be accomplished by ABC/Espn for the football playoff first weekend.
It didn't help ABC/TNT that when they went to half-time you were given Booger McFarland and that Indian dude as half-time anchors.
ABC Sports is straight weak sauce compared to the other networks.
