This guy has only been a head coach for 3, 4 yrs…
Had Penix for 2 yrs at Washington..
I think bama got told NO buy their top 2 or 3 guys.. I mean what coach would be ok with old arse saban looking over their shoulder every move they make?
But please continue to pretend this is a home run hire bammers, I’m enjoying it lol

They had to have been turned down by at least one but it's likely they had a deal almost done before Saban announced. There is now he was #1. He is like a #3 or #4.

Michael Penix spent 4 years at Indiana. He had fewer that 3,000 passing yards total in those 4 years.
He had 9,000 yards passing in 2 years under DeBoer.

Well he can't field a defense and has a RB for a QB at Bama and his only WR is trying to transfer. Great fit for him in the sec.
