Oh, and as already noted, he was named co-offensive coordinator when hired.
Interesting how it's been changed from co-OC on the website.

You should break the news. Coley as OC for A&M. write an article and have it published for whoever you cover CFB for.

I have no knowledge of who is or isn't in play for your OC position, that's why this thread is posed as a question.
I do know that many people within coaching circles do not think Jimbo will actually cede control of the offense and thus the job isn't generally viewed as very desirable.

Why wouldn’t it be? Sign a likely mid to high six figure contract that’s guaranteed (we are the kings of that). Even if A&M still sucks and the entire staff gets fired in a year or two, you get your payday and reputation doesn’t take much of a hit as it’ll be viewed as Fisher’s failure, jump right into your next job. Should be very desirable.

Truth he’s a Mississippi Southern 492’er
I call him a 492’er because that’s what Mississippi Southern Forbes ranking is …
I didn’t even know there where that many colleges in the US!!!

Mid to high 6 figures?
Y'all are fixing to take a page out of Orgeron's playbook, you'll have to moneywhip any potential assistants and you aren't getting a coordinator for any less than $1.5 million.
I'm curious what recent hire Jimbo has made that makes you people feel confident in his upcoming hires.

It was RC’s playbook first. Someone in the business would know that.

Nobody is, that’s the point. Elko was his last good hire. Durkin hasn’t impressed nor many of the other assistants. That’s pretty much why people are so interested in what happens, jimbo’s path forward rests a lot on how he handles this.
And so maybe we have to pay more than 6 figures, it’ll take whatever it takes. But thanks for proving my point, it’s not like it’s a bad job to take which was your initial post about people being hesitant (since you’re apparently in the know so much being in the industry. Still waiting to hear what your “job” is ). If it’s a really good guaranteed paycheck and if you’re successful you’ll be seen as saving the struggling A&M offense, but even if you fail, most people will blame Jimbo… what’s not to like?

Doesn’t really matter who our OC is with Weigman at QB. Won his 1st of four Vs LSU.

The OL coach hire is just as important as the OC hire IMO.

No one said it's a "bad job," it just isn't seen as very desirable within coaching circles currently.

No one believes that Jimbo is going to let someone else control the offense and a top tier OC isn't going to want to be tied to a product they aren't in control of.
Then there's the threat of being a scapegoat like Dickey.
I think A&M will definitely to moneywhip the right person but they won't be a top tier OC.

You got that right! That was a wasted year.

What do you mean by “control the offense”?

Didn't he lose to South Carolina and Auburn?
Also struggled quite a bit vs UMass.

I mean Zach Calzada beat Alabama too.
Jimbo only gameplans for one opponent per year apparently.
