That was Jim Chaney. James Coley didn't become OC until after Fields was gone.

Is that who Aggy is really after? He will just use you as leverage for a raise and title upgrade. He's not even the OSU OC as Day calls all the plays.

No one knows, probably someone outside the SEC with Texas roots. Most likely a Big 12 OC if I had to flat out guess.

The weird thing about the Jimbo-Coley thing is that Jimbo wanted Coley on Day 1 of his tenure at AnM. I remember it vividly as a UGA fan. Coley wasn't even our OC, I think he was WR coach, or co-OC or some shite. Coley turned him down, and that was big news for UGA fans. Coley apparently would rather make $300k a year in Athens than make $1m a year at AnM. It was a point of pride for us. That's really the only reason I remember this happening. But as it turned out, he ended up at AnM anyway a couple years later after his OC skills didn't exactly work out at UGA.
Now he gets to be Jimbo's scapegoat but he'll be rich so boo hoo.

We got Coley as a TE coach when Brewer left. He was a good recruiter and we wanted a piece of Georgia’s running game design. We aren’t making him OC just bc Sidewalk said so.
