‘Desperate’ Texas & OU Learn They Need Aggies’ SEC Path

You now need the SEC more than the SEC needs you. Sure, no conference is going to turn down two programs with the financial and cultural footprints of Texas and Oklahoma. In the never-ending arms race of TV money, influence, and playoff positioning, adding those two behemoths makes all the sense in the coming age of super conferences.
But the SEC didn’t need to make this move. It’s the Big Boy on the Block without UT and OU. What gets lost is the Big 12 defectors needed the move in order to stay relevant in what’s to come in Big Boy college football.

Yeah bullshite.
The reason you need to go elsewhere for money is because your school ran off many of the teams in good markets like A&M, Nebraska, Colorado and Missouri.
You were forced to take in a couple of G5 teams that added no new market value like TCU and WVU(who was rejected by the SEC prior to them going to the Big12).

Yall aren't the problem, its that army of tshirt fans who graduated from UT branch schools and San Marcos who love to ape the Longhorn arrogant bullshite because their lives are so shitty.
Usually that is the way it goes in college football (the SEC calls them sidewalk fans), but when the university is putting its hat in its hand to approach the SEC for a spot all the tshirt hubris isn't a good look.

That’s true, the SEC didn’t “need” to make this move, but if it didn’t, then the Big 10 would become the top conference when it inevitably added Texas and OU.
