Fournette's biggest sin, really, was getting shutdown by Alabama (when most people did) and having his best season opposite of Derrick Henry breaking records.
Fournette actually had more rushing yds in the regular season and a higher ypc in 2015. The shirts: [Print] Don’t print

Remember when LF ran the ball behind the line uncovered, and as he approached the line of scrimmage Radio came out of no where and hit him so hard he went over and sat on the bench for a time. That 1000 yd stare was beautiful.

It might surprise you to hear this but running Fournette 30+ times a game was the correct offensive strategery. Especially considering the poo-poo platter of talent at QB LSU had.

The one who did Fournette no favors was Leonard Fournette. He got fat and lazy at Jax.

Putting the ball in his hands was a good call. Lining up in I-formation, two TEs and one WR and running leads and dives all game was not a good call.

The offense was very outdated

Walker was a great college rb but he was the starting rb for 3 years and it was mostly a run first run last offense. Henry had to wait his turn snd played in an era of a more balanced offense.

So you turn to the NFL for comparison. Henry was in 4 pro bowls and was 1st team at least 1 year Apparently Walker was in 2 pro bowls, 2nd team Henry was the offensive player of the year in 2020. Walker never was. Henry so far was rushing leader 2 years. Walker never was. Henry rushing per carry 4.7. Walker 4.2.

The original post, though, was about the best SEC rb the last 10 years, as judged by the SEC Network, so all the other things are moot.

Fournette was a superior back.

While ignoring that walkers prime professional career was spent in the usfl. Look at his entire professional career and the numbers tell a different story.

Now add the bowl stats

Never understood why they don't retroactively add them.

Which Bama player was it that totally blew up LF in BDS?

Absolutely dumb argument. How many carries did Henry have compared to the others?

Henry carried the ball a lot but he was the type back that got stronger the more carries he got.

Probably because he played in the decade before, genius.

McFadden could score anywhere on the field, could bust an 80 yard run at any time. Every time he touched the ball, you held your breath.

McFadden could run through you or past you. The ultimate weapon.

He still broke that long run and had 150 yards.

He did indeed. But the score was 38-3 when he broke that long run and while he did gain 83 yards on that carry and scored a touchdown, he was held to 63 yards on the other 19 carries he had that day. In other words, he failed to matter when the game was actually competitive.

It's better than Henry's best year

Apples and oranges. Comparing the two is hard because the game had a lot of rule changes and evolutions at both offense and defense.

In his Heisman season...
Henry faced 7 rushing defenses ranked in the top 25
Henry faced 7 ranked teams
Henry faced 14 teams with a winning record

In his Heisman season...
Walker faced 3 teams that finished ranked
Walker faced 7 teams with winning records

All time Stats be damned if I had to line someone up in the backfield up for one game it had to be Bo Jackson. No one had more ability.. It was dumb for Pat Dye to run a Wishbone offense with this man. Get him 25 touches a game GET HIM THE DAMN BALL.

I think Shaun Alexander is very underrated. He got it done in college and in the pros,,,was underused in college believe it or not. But ask LSU what he could do.

Shaun Alexander was a beast. He also got stronger the more he carried the ball.
